The Rules tab sets the criteria that determine how the single/seasons program must be scheduled.
Rules
In the first two areas of this tab, you can specify how the Runs and ReRuns are managed for the purchased program:
An individual number of Runs will be managed for each asset (e.g. episode) forming part of the purchased program if enabled.
For instance, if a season of 10 episodes counts with 3 Run rights, it will be possible to schedule a maximum of 30 episodes (i.e. 3 run rights x 10 episodes).
Linked_to_each_single_asset
A global number of Runs will be managed for the entire program if enabled.
For instance, if a season of 10 episodes counts with 3 Run rights, it will be possible to schedule a maximum of 3 episodes (the runs in the contract line are not multiplied by the episodes).
Independent_of_the_single_asset
Note: This option would be enabled only if the "unlimited rights" option is allowed under the Main data tab.
An individual number of Runs will be managed for each asset (e.g. episode) forming part of the purchased program if enabled.
For instance, if a season of 10 episodes counts with 3 Run rights and 4 ReRun rights, it will be possible to schedule a maximum of 120 ReRuns (i.e. 4 Rerun rights x 3 Runs rights x 10 episodes).
Linked_to_each_single_Run
An individual number of Runs will be managed for each asset (e.g. episode) forming part of the purchased program if enabled.
For instance, if a season of 10 episodes counts with 3 Run rights and 4 ReRun rights, it will be possible to schedule a maximum of 4 Rerun (the reruns in the contract line are not multiplied by the episodes).
Independent_of_the_single_Run
If enabled, the ReRuns related to the purchased single/seasons program will always be available for scheduling without restrictions since its purchased rights are unlimited.
Note: Please note that in case of setting unlimited ReRuns, the"ReRun"value specified in the Main data tab would also be modified (i.e. set to zero).
Additional_conditions_for_ReRuns
For example, if a Run is scheduled at "06:00:00" and this parameter is set as 10 hours, if a second run is scheduled between 06:00:00 and 16:00:00, it would be considered a ReRun.
Is ReRun if (>)…and (<=)…: Define up to 3 additional time intervals for a second Run to be considered a ReRun.
Following the example above, a different condition can be defined in this way:
Is ReRun if > [10 hours] and <= [5 hours]
So, if a second Run is scheduled between 16:00:00 and 21:00:00, it would be considered a ReRun.
Template_area_and_Destinations
The rule has been enhanced to allow run/rerun on multiple channels. Under the law, the first Run must be scheduled on the primary channel in the Primary run destination parameter, and various channels are made available for selection in the Destination parameter. The Scheduler (Program and Seasons) will check the run present in the primary channel and trigger multiple channels in the destination parameter if the rule is valid. If the Scheduler fails to detect Run in the primary channel, other channels will not be scheduled.
The failed event would be logged in the Scheduler report.
