Tape. A tape is a physical holder of contents, which can be videos or other forms of data. DV Cam, DVC Pro, and Betacam SP are the most common formats. Etere software supports almost all video and data tapes currently used in the broadcast industry.

Theme. A theme is a short media that identifies a particular television program and is commonly transmitted before and after. Etere supports playing themes at a program's beginning, middle, or end.

Ticker. A ticker is a scrolling area at the lower third of the television screen commonly used to display changing information, usually in text headlines, numeric statistics, or both. Tickers are also known as News Tickers, News Crawls, or News Slides.

Time (Scheduled and Actual). The scheduled time is when an event is expected to be sent on-air by an automation system. Meanwhile, the actual time is the time that the event is transmitted. With Etere, users can manage both times for every event on the programming schedule.

Timecode. Timecode is a standard method to uniquely identify and label every frame in a video stream under a 24-hour clock consisting of hours, minutes, seconds, and television frames. Timecode can be zero-based, starting the timeline at 00:00:00:00. It can also be non-zero-based, starting at either the source stream's timecode or on a custom-entered value. With Etere, users can utilize timecodes to, for example, locate particular points on the video file and add metadata.

Time Code (VITC). A Vertical Interval Time Code (VITC) is a time code recorded as video signals in the vertical interval of the active picture, where no audio track is lost. VITCs cannot be individually recorded later onto the original tape. VITCs can be read by a VTR in stop mode or when jogged slowly.

Time Code (LTC). A Linear/Longitudinal Time Code (LTC) is a time code recorded on a linear analog track, typically an audio track channel on a videotape. LTCs can be individually recorded later onto the original tape. LTCs cannot be read by a VTR in stop mode or when jogged slowly.

Timeline. A timeline in nonlinear editing is the area in which audio and video clips are applied, typically giving duration in frames and seconds. A timeline is also seen in animation and composition software.

Top-Up. A top-up is a commercial announcement offered to an advertiser as compensation for a pre-emptied spot or one that ran incorrectly. Etere Air Sales support defining and scheduling contractual top-ups within the commercial schedule. Top-ups are also referred to as make-good.

Transcoding. Transcoding converts digital media content from one format or resolution to another, such as MPEG-2 to DivX.

Traffic. Traffic is the source of schedules to be converted into playlists and the final destination of As-Run logs. With Etere, users can automate the commercial functions of the station. Using Etere Air Sales, a robust system generates on-air schedules of events yet to be aired and controls airtime sales, contract management, and billing. It can also store program formats and provide management for placing commercials and promotional materials within the scheduled on-air programs.

Type (Program). A type of program is a description of a program format, such as news, series, and video clips. With Etere, users can fully manage program types, including custom definition, filtering, and scheduling.
