Before start using Etere CensorMX Time Delay, it is required to configure the following parameters:
Etere Time Delay
GENERAL
Parameter - Duration of recorded files (minutes)
Description: Specify the fixed duration for all ingested files.
Every time the recording length of a file reaches this value (e.g. 60 minutes), a new recording will start.
¹: The entered value must be an integer between 5 min and 720 min (12 hrs).
²: The entered value must also be divisible by 24, without remainder.
³: Please refer to your video server documentation (e.g. MTX) for detailed information on the maximum recording duration (per clip) for each format and your device's overall maximum storage capacity.
INGEST
Parameter - Resource to use
Description: Drag the encoder to be used for capturing media into this box.
Parameter - Delay between recordings
Description: Indicate here the transition time to your video server to end an ongoing recording and initiate a new one.
c
This parameter is used by the application to stop the encoder before its expected end and thus compensate for the time loss during the "recording transition" (stop encoder -> cue encoder -> start encoder), allowing the next recording at its expected time.
c
For instance, if it takes to your video server 1s to stop the encoder, 0.5s to cue the encoder and 0.5s to start the encoder, then you should set this parameter to 3s (i.e. 1+0.5+0.5).
PLAYOUT
Parameter - Resource to use
Description: Drag the decoder into this box to play media.
Parameter - Name of file to use as filler
Description: Specify the name of the file to be played between two clips to fill the gap between them.
The clip duration must equal or exceed the "delay between recordings" parameter.
Parameter - Delay for playback
Description: Specify here the minimum time that must elapse since the start of a recording to allow its playback.
c
For instance, if this parameter is set to 60 minutes and the current time is 18:30:00, only those files whose recording started at 17:30:00 (i.e. 18:30:00 - 01:00:00) or earlier will be valid for playout.
