Events can be freely managed within the schedule with the most common and easy-to-use functions that a windows environment can offer, those functions are:
• Insert Events: To add a new event to the current schedule, move the mouse on the desired position, open the contextual menu with a right-click and select NEW (or just press the INS key). In both cases you can access the assets archive from where you will be able to search for the event(s) to be inserted and insert them by double-clicking on them, or dragging&dropping them into the schedule on the desired position. It's also possible to insert more than 1 asset, just select them holding the CTRL or SHIFT key, then press the INS key.
• Copy Events: Executive Editor allows copying events within the same schedule or even from one schedule (e.g.: the real schedule) to another (e.g.: an alternative schedule) opened simultaneously; to do this, just select the events by clicking on them, press the right mouse button and select COPY option (or use the CTRL+C key combination), then move to the desired schedule position and right click on it, then select PASTE (or press the CTRL+V key combination).
Please note that besides the previously explained method, it is also possible to copy events by using the drag and drop technique while holding the CTRL key.
When events are copied and paste into program, it would regenerate the value in the “EVENT_P” field in TPALINSE database table to prevent duplication in “EVENT_P” field when the events are exploded into schedule.
Please note:
- When drag-and-drop an event within schedule, you must enable the “Ask for confirmation each time a Drag-and-drop is performed in the same schedule” option in Configuration > Settings > Executive Editor > Schedule Parameters > Global in order to receive a confirmation message.
- In order to avoid popup confirmation message when inserting event to schedule, the option “For each change request a confirmation to apply it to other stations” in Configuration > Settings > Executive Editor > Schedule Parameters > Synchronized Playlists must be disabled.
- When a Live event is “copy and paste” between schedules, the external code field which contains the reconcile key for all segments in the Live event, would also be copied and pasted to the new instance.
- It is forbidden to add a LIVE event after the ONAIR LIVE EVENT if it already exceeded its scheduled duration and the counter is negative. If user tries to perform this operation, a warning message will prompt, avoiding the insertion of the LIVE event in this specific condition.
• Move Events: Executive Editor allows moving events within the same schedule or even from one schedule (e.g.: the real schedule) to another (e.g.: an alternative schedule) opened simultaneously; to do this, just select the events by clicking on them, press the right mouse button and select CUT option (or use the CTRL+X key combination), then move to the desired schedule position and right click on it, then select PASTE (or press the CTRL+V key combination).
Please note that besides the previously explained method, it is also possible to copy events by using the drag and drop technique while holding the CTRL key:
• Delete Events: Select the event and right-click on it and select the "Delete" option (or just press the DEL key). Deleting a scheduled event doesn't mean deleting it definitively from the assets archive.
NB: When an event scheduled by Air Sales is deleted in Executive Editor, the event would be moved into “Alternative Schedules” for re-scheduling.
• Undo (CTRL + Z): It allows the operator to undo the last performed operations. Detailed information can be found in the chapter 84.2.2.17 Operations Log (Undo).
• Search: Located in the top of the schedule, this option allows you to go directly to the event positioned in the selected time.
• Edit Events: By making double-click on an event, you can edit some of its properties (e.g. date, time, scheduled day, scheduled time, code, description, duration, etc). By changing the Time field, you can set the exact time at which the event will start.
As precaution measure, if the event duration is increased for segment in the program that divided into parts, a warning message would be prompt to alert the user to check other part of events.
Note: It is not possible to set timecode SOM and EOM values outside the physical mark-in and mark-out of the assets, this, to avoid incongruencies (e.g. SOM greater than EOM).
• Change Event Properties: Available by making right-click on an event and selecting the 'properties' option, it allows you to set all possible personalization of the selected event, here you can change some the most important properties:
For detailed info about Asset Properties please refer to the proper chapters: from 72.2.2.51 Secondary events to 72.2.2.62 Other properties.
When changing event properties, adhere to the following rules:
1. You are not allowed to change others scheduled event type to Fixed event.
2. Events with variable durations cannot be scheduled before Fixed event after imported to Executive Editor.
3. For Live event, the event would be scheduled as Manual event type after import from playlist to Executive Editor.
4. If empty space occurs in playlist, the last frame of the previous event would be freezed.
• View ETX's path used by automation: In "Schedule Parameters", you can view the metadevice and paths in ETX server used in the automated restore file schedule.
• Assign / Change file in ETX server to the scheduled event: From the Executive Editor's Schedule View, the metafile, metadevice and path of the respective events are displayed in the "Filename" column.
You are able to assign or change the specific path and file retrieved from ETX server for any event. Once changed, the "Filename" column will be updated in the Executive Editor view.
• Enabler Enhanced: In the Enhanced column, Executive Editor indicates the enhanced object assigned to the event. There are 3 available valuations, where:
N = indicate no enhanced
S = with enhanced
X = Spot substitution
You can change the Enhanced valuation assigned to the event by simply right-click on event and select “Edit” function.
In the Edit function, change the current assigned enhanced object and other associate parameters where necessary, and click <OK> to continue.
Next, assign a 10 digits identification code appended to the “X” enhanced object as indicated above.
After which, apply the changes and click <OK> to return to Executive Editor. The changes would be updated in the Enhanced column in Executive Editor.
For further information regarding events functions, refer to the chapter 84.2.3.2 Contextual On-Click menu.
Note: When managing events, the event duration is displayed in mmmm:ss,ff format in “Duration” column (e.g. “1430:05,41” is “23:50:05,41”, “1440:00,00” is “24:00:00,00”). To display it in timecode format, the parameter Show duration in timecode format in Etere Configuration > Settings > Schedule parameters > Global tab, must be enabled.
