59.3.10.5 Edit functions

The Editor Space is located on the right of the screen and is where the T-workflow will be created and managed; in this section, we found the following buttons.

When a T-workflow is launched, the workflow canvas is displayed in full-screen mode; you can resize the T-workflow canvas by double-clicking on the top bar of the canvas.  

You can refer to the "View Workflow Canvas" chapter for more information.

T-WORKFLOW toolbar functions
In the top part of the T-workflow designer are located some functions related to the management of the T-workflow; these functions are:

Function- New
Description:
Creates a new empty T-workflow.

Function- Open
Description:
Opens an existing T-workflow.

Function- Save
Description:
Saves all changes performed on the current T-workflow.

Function- Delete
Description:
Removes the current T-workflow from the system.

NB: If the T-workflow contains one or more worksheet actions, a user confirmation will be required since all the worksheet's related data (e.g. costs of performed tasks) will also be deleted. The T-workflow will be removed from associated assets and its derived tasks from agendas.

Function- Duplicate
Description:
Creates a new T-workflow based on the current one.

Function- Import T-workflow
Description:
Browse for an. XML file containing an exported Etere T-Workflow (from another system), and recreate its structure in the current system.

Note: For detailed information, please refer to the chapter "Importing/Exporting T-Workflows".

Function- Export workflow
Description:
Export an. XML file containing an Etere T-Workflow.

Note: For detailed information, please refer to the chapter "Importing/Exporting T-Workflows".

Function- Add angled connector.
Description:
Enables the insertion of an angled connector between two action blocks. Once pressed, this function will be active until it is turned off by pressing it again.

Function- Add a straight connector.
Description:
Enables the insertion of a straight connector between two action blocks. Once pressed, this function will be active until it is turned off by pressing it again.

Function- Manage connection
Description:
Allows inserting a connector automatically by specifying the output of the source block and the input of the source block.

The Destination text box provides an immediate vicinity to connect the output to the end of the block by selecting "End" from the drop-down list.

Function- Select blocks only
Description:
If enabled, when the user defines a selection area by clicking and dragging the mouse, only the blocks within this area will be selected.

Function- Select connections only
Description:
If enabled, when the user defines a selection area by clicking and dragging the mouse, only the connections within this area will be selected.

Function- Replace Action.
Description:
If enabled, the "replacement mode" will be activated, thus allowing to easily replace actions as specified in the chapter "Replacing actions".

Function- Connection errors check
Description:
Checks all connections in the T-workflow, pointing out to the user that all wrong links must be manually remade (i.e., removed and reinserted).

NB: This check is automatically performed every time a T-workflow is loaded in the editor.

Function- Workflow loop check
Description:
This function checks the current T-workflow Action, as well as all T-workflows in the diagram that are linked to the current T-workflow, and alerts the operator if looping is detected.  

There are three possible outcomes upon checking:

•A loop is detected in at least one of the connected WORKFLOWs. The "Workflow" name would be indicated. You need to open the workflow in T-workflow Designer and run "Workflows loop Check" again to detect and delete the connection errors.

•A loop is detected in at least one of the connected actions. The "Action" name would be indicated. You must open the specific Action and check the parameters to detect the looping.

•No loop found in

For this function to work effectively, you are advised to complete the unlinked blocks in T-workflows before running this function.

Function- Zoom in
Description:
Increases the scale of the T-workflow view by 20%.

Function- Zoom out
Description:
Decreases the scale of the T-workflow view by 20%.

Function- Refresh
Description:
Updates the T-workflow content and information.

Function- Print
Description:
Preview and print the current T-workflow.

Function- Set the background colour
Description:
Select the background colour with which T-workflows are printed.

Function- Create PDF
Description:
Generates a PDF document containing the T-workflow picture and automatically attaches it to the current T-workflow within the Etere Do.Ma. Database.

This function is helpful to keep track of T-workflow changes during their implementation or sharing.

NB: From Etere released version 29.2 onwards, the "Create PDF" function can read the unique character (e.g. "\" (backslash), "/" (forward slash)) in the workflow path.

Function- Open Do.Ma.
Description:
Open the Simplified Do.Ma. Module to allow viewing and managing all documents attached to the current T-workflow.

NB: The zoom scale can be reset by pressing the [CTRL+Z] combination keys. Moreover, the view can be zoomed in/out by pressing and holding the [Control] key and using the mouse wheels.

ACTIONS right-click function

Right-click on an action block within a T-workflow it is possible to gain access to the following functions:

Function- Properties (F4)
Description: The
 friendly name, local name, code, description and category of a particular block can be displayed by clicking on it and pressing [F4] or selecting the "Properties" option from its contextual menu.

Function- Delete (Del)
Description:
Removes the selected block or connector from the T-workflow.

Function- Move
Description:
Allows managing the appearance of the selected block/connector through the following functions:

•Output: Move all the block outputs (or the selected output) to the right, left, up or downside of the block.

•Input: Move all the block inputs (or the selected output) to the right, left, up or downside of the block.

•Rotate: Rotate the block of 90 degrees to the left (counterclockwise), right (clockwise), or 180 degrees (vertical inversion).

Function- Create test T-workflow
Description:
Create a new testing T-workflow for the selected asset.

Function- Zoom reset (CTRL-Z)
Description:
Restores the view of the T-workflow to its default percentage (i.e. 100%).

T-WORKFLOW_toolbar_functions
