How to

84.12.17 DST - Switching FROM Daylight Saving Time

This section will describe how to configure Etere when switching from Daylight Saving Time (time is generally shifted 1 hour backward):

Time sync Every workstation must be synchronized with the whole LAN, and the Windows parameter "Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes" must be enabled.

Timecode and Time Flooder: The timecode generator must pass to solar time between "n" minutes (e.g. 60) before and "n" minutes (e.g. 60) after the time at which the switching from DST to solar time occurs.

NB: If it is impossible to guarantee the timecode change within this interval, the flooder must be closed beforehand and restarted only after the timecode generator is synchronized with the new time.

Etere Software: The schedule containing the switching time must be 25 hours instead of 24.
Please note that during the switching interval*, only the Executive Editor should be used to modify the schedule; additionally, if Etere Aligner runs, the Database and the AsRun logs will be updated regularly.
* 2:00 AM to 1:00 AM for Western European Time, 3:00 AM to 2:00 AM for Central European Time, 4:00 AM to 3:00 AM for Eastern European Time, etc.

Check To-Do List: It's essential to check that schedules don't contain any fixed event scheduled during the daylight saving time switching, especially in the hour when the time shift takes effect.

Moreover, check that the "Windows time service" is stopped and disabled in the computers on which Time Flooder and Time Receiver are running.

NB: If your Etere system does not use TimeFlooder/TimeReceiver for time synchronization, check that the synchronization is set to "processor timer" in the Etere Automation settings.

Attention!
Etere strongly advises switching to daylight saving time only within the default time slot, that is, with a tolerance of 60 minutes before and 60 minutes after the switching time.
