As shown in the figure below, Strategic Editor presents a horizontal view of the schedule broken down into segments from left to right in chronological order, for each segment the following information is displayed:
NB: If an asset type is assigned with “Denied” or “View only” object rights, the asset would not be visible in Strategic Editor.
Duration and Difference: These fields, positioned in the top part of the window, displays the total duration of the segments present in the current schedule as well as the difference between the duration and the total daily duration (i.e. 24hrs).
NB: Note that calculations are based on the "maximum duration" of all segments present in the schedule and not on the duration of their containing blocks.
Event Details: It listed all the relevant data regarding the current selected segment including:
•Details: A brief description of the event.
•Order, order end, order type: Contractual information related to the event.
•Asset: The asset assigned to the event.
•Deadlines: show the deadlines set for the scheduled events.
•SOM, EOM, Duration: It displays the mark-in, mark-out and length of the event-related asset.
•Part: If the event has been exploded, it indicates the exploded part number.
•Time, Scheduled time, Date: Information related to the actual time, expected time and date on which the event has been scheduled.
•Product code: show the product code of the event.
•Artist: the name of the artist.
•Type: the type of the event. e.g. commercial, news, trailer, etc.
•Priority: the priority assigned to the event.
•Ad Insertion: the number of events added by using Ad Insertion.
•Free: specific whether the space used by the event is chargeable.
•Invoiced: indicate whether the event has been invoiced.
•Event type: indicate the type of event defined in configuration settings.
•Media: the type of media used.
•Scheduling: the schedule has been checked.
•Notes: additional text description added to the event.
•Media data: the type of media data in the media.
•Amount: the chargeable amount.
•Genre: the custom category of the event.
•Event level: the current status of the event.
•Contractual top: whether the event is scheduled in the top segment of the block.
•Broadcast type: the current status of the event that it has been previously transmitted.
•Parental guidance: the parental guidance ratings for this event.
•WL priority: the priority setting for manually manage the events in white list.
•Sch duration: the duration of the scheduled event.
Please note that it is possible to specify the data that will be displayed in this column by right-click on it and selecting the 'customize' option.
Segment Info: This square(s) contains information for each segment present in the schedule, it detailed the following segment's information:
•Color: The segment's color is the same color of the event type that allow it. However, segments can be colored depending on particular issues, they can be black (scheduled in past) or yellow (unsaved changes).
•Date and time: The date and time the segment is positioned within the schedule.
•Block name: The name of the block which the segment is contained.
•Type: The event type that the segment is allowed to hold (i.e. schedule on it).
•Local (start time): The time at which the segments starts its transmission.
•Occupation: The amount of time currently used by the events scheduled within the segment.
•Scheduled duration: The duration time the segment is expected to last.
•Maximum duration: The maximum duration time the segment can last.
•Durations difference: The difference between the expected and maximum duration.
•Progressive segment in the block: A number that indicates the progressive position of the segment within the block.
Segment Status: The status column allows to view available space remain in the segment with the remaining time clearly stated in hours, minutes and seconds. See the SE Shown features for further information.
No. Event 1/2/3 etc: Any asset that have been scheduled in Air Sales are listed horizontally on the schedule. Using drag and drop, events can be moved around in the schedule.
Thumbnail View
A versatile and useful feature of Strategic Editor is to view the scheduled events in the thumbnails view by right-click on a specific event and select 'Thumbnail > Load Thumbnail in preview'. This option can be enabled by right-click and selecting 'Thumbnail > Download thumbnail'.
You can enable the 'thumbnail' option for all the events presented in the current schedule by right-click and choose the 'select all' option.
Status Bar
Strategic Editor allows operators to have a constant overview of total revenue from any particular schedule by displaying both "Total Costs" and "Total Returns" at the bottom of the Schedule screen. This information is automatically updated when changes are made to orders or scheduling amends take place.
Total Costs: this is the sum of the value of every seasons/program with a cost assigned to it, scheduled on that particular day.
Total Returns: this is the sum of the value of every commercial event scheduled on that particular day.
Episode Number
In the “Event No.” column, if the event is an episode of a Seasons, the episode number would be displayed in the event column as indicated below.
