For Multi-function Ingest, users can collect together a VTR source with a destination Encoder, giving to the setting a proper name. This tab is subdivided in three tabs which are:
•General:
Multifunction Ingest
You can set in this tab the general operations regarding the current ingestion mode, the most relevant parameters to be defined are:
•Last used resources: if enabled, the application will remember the last used resources and activate them automatically,
•Preview: If enabled, at the end of an ingest operation the decoder will be locked for the preview of the just ingested media, otherwise (if disabled) no channel will be locked.
Note: in case the parameter that open video server ports in "locked mode", the first unlocked resource will be used rather than the first compatible.
•Ingest type
•Main and Backup ingest intended both as main: Allows you to perform the Main and Backup ingest even in the same cluster, this by inserting both of them as a both. In order to use this option is required that the codec must be present in the video filename (you can set it in Etere Configuration | Ingest).
•Backup ingest intended as main on a parallel asset: Allows to ingest at the same time on the Backup resource, and insert automatically a suffix in both the clip and asset names of the recently ingested media.
•GPI: If the VTR to be used (which is set in Source) is able to render a signal in case of defective video, indicate here the number of the GPI linked to the VTR as well as the tolerance (in frames) to be taken into account before flagging the defective video.
Further information regarding this feature can be found in the Channel Condition Monitoring chapter.
