Etere Scheduling counts with a tight integration with the Etere Air Sales module (used for commercial management) and Executive Editor allows programming operators to view and also modify events scheduled using Air Sales. This kind of events can be differentiated from the other ones because they indicates the commercial block, segment and cluster to which they belong to (use the editor button to enable their visualization).
Executive Editor provides for commercial events -besides the standard event properties- also the block, segment and cluster on which they have been scheduled.
Please note that all differences between the normal and the commercial schedule can be observed in detail and managed by using the proper changes function located under the Schedule menu.
Available Operations
As mentioned before, Executive Editor not only allows to view 'commercial events' but it also allows to modify them. Amongst the available functions present in Air Sales menu we can found:
Search commercial orders - Select a specific commercial segment, search for all the 'commercial order line' and schedule it on the selected segment.
Link event to order - Shows all commercial and/or season orders available for the segment associated to the selected event. In case the event is not linked to any segment, it will be required to first associate one.
Link events to orders to include them in the count of commercials and/or season, thus allowing to keep track of their costs.
Moreover, it's worth mentioning that linking events to orders is also possible from the Scheduling linker utility included in the Air Sales module.
Note: This function is available only if either Black List management (for sales orders) or BMS management (for purchase orders) are disabled.
Definitely remove Air Sales events from the trash - Since deleted events are kept in a ghost playlist (i.e. scheduling level 666) until they are definitively deleted, they will appear as "scheduled" in their sales orders in the meanwhile.
Use this function to automatically search for all events -derived from sales orders- which have been deleted from the current active playlist, and definitely remove them from the trash (and therefore from the system), thus making them available for being re-scheduled.
Note: This function is available only if either Black List management or BMS management is disabled.
Definitely remove BMS events from the trash - Since deleted events are kept in the system (i.e. in a playlist specific for delete events) until they are definitively deleted, they will appear as "scheduled" in their purchase orders in the meanwhile.
Use this function to automatically search for all events -derived from purchase orders- which have been deleted from the current active playlist, and definitely remove them from the trash (and therefore from the system), thus making them available for being re-scheduled.
Note: This function is available only if the BMS management is enabled.
Insert in black list all events deleted from the schedule - Automatically search for all commercial events deleted from the current active schedule in the station within the specified date range and move them to the Black List (i.e. the container where are deposited all those events which scheduling space is occupied by another event).
Use this function to update the orders related to all those events deleted during the day (e.g. either manually or using the 'delete all events from all alternative schedules' function), this by indicating that these events have been unscheduled and they are now in the black list.
Note: This function is available only if the Black List management is enabled.
Associate selected events to the block - Associate events scheduled using Executive Editor to a commercial block such in a way that they will be included in the commercial programming (e.g.: for including last-minute advertisements into the commercial schedule).
Note: In order to perform this operation, the type of selected events must be compatible with those allowed by the target block.
Remove selected events from the block - This option does exactly the opposite of the previous function (associate selected events to the block), that is, it disassociates all selected blocks from the block on which they have been scheduled, removing them from the commercial schedule.
Bind selected events to previous block - Automatically associate all selected events (either belonging or not to Air Sales) to the previous commercial block (i.e. preceding the scheduled events in the playlist).
Note: In order to perform this operation, the type of selected events must be compatible with those allowed by the target block.
Bind selected events to next block - Automatically associate all selected events (either contractual or not) to the next commercial block.
Note: In order to perform this operation, the type of selected events must be compatible with those allowed by the target block.
Change event priority - Modify the scheduling priority to be taken into account when sorting the events within a cluster.
Block Editor - Open the Block Editor application that will permit the operator to view/modify commercial blocks as well as create new ones. Please consult the chapter 202.6.0.0 Block Editor for detailed information regarding how to use this application.
Weekly Schedule - Opens the Weekly Schedule module which allows to view/edit the structure of commercial schedules. Please refer to the chapter 202.3.0.0 Weekly Schedule for further information about how to operate this module.
Deleting events scheduled by Air Sales
First of all, deleting events which have been scheduled using Air Sales is a sensitive operation that impact commercial scheduling and invoicing; having said these, each time a commercial event is deleted from Executive Editor, it is also removed from the Air Sales schedule and the runs in its related order are increased by one.
When deleting commercial events, Etere suggest to launch (e.g. at the end of the day) the 'Insert in black list all events deleted from the schedule' function that will update the related orders by placing deleted events (which are temporarily stored in a scheduling level specific for removed events) into a black list.
Note: It is possible to activate a warning message that will ask the operator for a confirmation each time he attempts to delete an event scheduled by Air Sales, this, by enabling the 'always ask for a confirmation before deleting events scheduled from Air Sales' parameter under the Etere Configuration | Settings | Executive Editor | Schedule parameters | Air Sales section.
Copying events scheduled by Air Sales
Each time a commercial event is copied from Executive Editor (e.g.: using copy and paste, ctrl+c and ctrl+v, or drag and drop), the resulting event is a non-commercial event featuring the same information (i.e.: description, duration and scheduled time) and without any linked asset.
Note: This copy policy is also applied to automatic copies performed, for example, by the 'copy automation schedule' function or a 'multichannel replication', etc.
