Adding resources is a simple task in Etere; it can be easily performed by following the steps described below:
1. Navigate to the left panel of the Resources Editor and click on the "Add" button to bring up a list of all supported resource types (e.g. archive, cart machines, logo generators, miscellaneous, video servers, video mixers, video routers and vtr's) specified in the Available resources chapter.
2. Select the relevant device, and the 'Device Type List' appears, displaying all the devices that can be created belonging to the selected category.
3. Select which device you wish to connect From this 'Device type list', and a 'Properties' window will appear.
4. If the new resource is an ETX resource, select ETX from the properties windows. See chapter Etere ETX CIB videoserver for more information about the ETX resource creation and configuration.
5. Depending on the device in question, various parameters must be configured; some are generic to all devices, and some are device-specific. If the resource is not an ETX resource, please check the related chapter in Etere Configuration > Resources > Resource Configuration to see the specific parameters.
6. Press the 'Save' button to create the new resource in the Etere database.
NB: Check the chapter Supported Devices to see if Etere supports the device represented by the resource that's being created.
