 • Edit Decision List •
Structured list of segments, used to represent video content, arranged by timecode. Commonly referred to as EDL, it is primarily used in post-production to specify which portions of the source footage should be used and/or assembled. Etere allows to create and manage EDLs, supporting use cases such as censorship, quality control, post-editing, and other editorial processes

 • Electronic Program Guide •

 • Encoding •
Process of converting video (or audio) content into a specific digital format using an encoder. This involves compressing the data to reduce file size while maintaining an acceptable level of quality. Encoding is essential for efficient storage, transmission, streaming, and post-production uses

 • End of Message / Start of Message •
Logical timecode markers that define the intended start and end frames of an asset. Commonly referred to as EoM and SoM, they were originally used in tapes-based environments, while now they are widely applied in digital file-based systems and Media Asset Management platforms to support tasks such as quality control, playout preparation, and metadata-based asset management

In Etere, events include a robust set of properties that, along with the metadata provided by the related assets, support optimal scheduling, playout, and broadcast management
