This chapter provides the procedure required to view and approve changes of broadcast playlists:
1. Insert events into the "Changes Approval" playlist using one of the following import functions:
5015_Scheduling_changes
Generic TXT
Generic XML
Standard IBMS Etere XML
Custom Gen21 XML
¹ All import functions listed above are available in Etere Scheduling and/or Etere F90.
² The parameter "Import into level 701..." allows specifying the period (e.g. 12 hours before on-air) to require a "Changes Approval" for imported events. Events outside this period will be directly imported into the real playlist.
2. After the import ,a warning will be displayed in the top part of the Executive Editor to indicate that there are pending changes for the current television playlist:
5014_Pending_changes
Note: The warning will be displayed until either the user applies/deletes changes from "Changes Approval" or close the message window.
3. Open the "Changes Approval" tool (from "Executive Editor > Schedule > Changes Approval") and press the following toolbar button:
Parameters - Set the options (see "Settings") upon which the changes detection and approval will be based (e.g. identification key, type filters, include secondary events, etc.).
4. Once configured, the main window will be displayed including the following sections:
5013_Changes_Approval
Changes list: Located in the left hand part, it displays all Primary events for which the "Delta Analysis" has detected differences¹ between real and change playlists (e.g. same ID but different title).
Clicking on a particular event will load all its information in the details panel.
¹ Differences are detected by comparing two events scheduled (in real and changes playlists) with the same reconciliation key (set in the parameters).
² The source can be "ImportGeneric" (imported by F90 or Scheduling), "Traffic_new" (scheduled by Air Sales) or empty (scheduled by Executive Editor).
Details panel: Located in the right hand part, it displays the Fields (upper part) and Secondary events (bottom part) that changed for a given event, between the real and change playlists.
5. Check or uncheck each event to indicate if their related actions should be either performed or not. Prompted actions depend on the delta analysis:
Action: Insert
Description: The event is present in the "changes schedule" but missing in the "real schedule"; select it to insert it into the latter one.
Action: Delete
Description: The event is present in the "real schedule" but missing in the "changes schedule"; select it to delete it from the "real schedule".
NB: In case of deleting events scheduled by Etere Air Sales (source=Traffic_new), please note that they will be also deleted from their related commercial schedules.
Action: Update
Description: The event is present in both, the "real schedule" and the "changes schedule", but one of the schedules contains a modified version.
NB: Events present in both, the real and the changes schedules, and features the same properties and secondary events are not shown in the list of changes.
6. Moreover, the following toolbar functions can be used to improve the management of changes:
Select all - Select all events present in the list of changes.
Select note - Deselect all the events which are currently ticked off.
Refresh - Reads the database and updates the list of changes.
See changes - Open the "changes schedule" in read-only mode, displaying all events imported (i.e. source=importGeneric) by any of the supported import functions.
Executive Editor - Open the "real schedule" in read-only mode, displaying all events scheduled (i.e. source=empty) in Etere Scheduling or Etere Air Sales (i.e. source=traffic_new).
7. Once done press the following toolbar button:
Import changes - Apply all selected changes (insertions and deletions) into the related schedules, refreshing the real schedule instantaneously.
8. Now all changes have been successfully applied.
