Weekly Schedule

202.3.3 Context Menu

Blocks present in the schedule grid can be managed by right-click and accessing the functions provided in the menu:

Handling        

•New Block: Creates a new block (Creating a Block) in the current selected position.

•Edit Block: Open an existing block with Block Editor, allowing to edit its name, types, segments, etc.

•Delete Block: Move the block from the selected daily schedule to recycle bin (the recycle bin can be accessible via CTRL+F7).

•Remove block from period: Deletes all instances of selected block(s) from a given scheduling period, allowing to optionally keep non-empty blocks into the recycle bin. Please refer to the Remove Block From Period chapter for further details.

•Paste: Copy all selected blocks into a different date range, as explained in the Paste Blocks Between Days chapter.
 
Properties        

•Assign color: By using this option, the default color of the block can be easily changed. The new color will be applied to all the block insertions present in the schedule structure.

NB: As the schedule text are written in black, changes would not take effect if you assign black color as block color.

•Move block to another station: This function move the selected block to another station.  You are required to provide the information before moving the selected block:

- Station: Select the name of the target station, e.g. ETX, MAM, Nunzio, etc.

- Destination date: Select the date in target station to insert the block.

- Destination time: Set the time in the selected date to insert the block.

When the parameters are confirmed, click the Run icon to move the selected block to the target station.

•Change the time: Set the starting time of the block, it is useful for repositioning a block at an exact hour.

Apply to period: By enabling this option, it allows to move a block by changing the duration within a period of time.

Allow overlaps: By enabling this option, when the changed block duration is overlapping with other block, the operation would be allowed.

•Change block duration: Through this option the duration of the block can be either increased or decreased. Please note that when the duration of a block is changed, the block becomes a child block of the original block.

Apply to period: By enabling this option, it allows to move a block by changing the duration within a period of time.

Allow overlaps: By enabling this option, when the changed block duration is overlapping with other block, the operation would be allowed.

•Rename schedule name: It allows to change the default schedule name (e.g. Schedule of 26/07/2010 operator3) into a custom name (e.g. Channel 1 - 26/07/2010). This function is useful for report printing purposes.
 
Selection        

•Select all content for the day: Mark all the blocks contained in the selected day.

•Select Block (Ctrl + click): Add the block to the 'current selected blocks' in order to carry out a batch operation (e.g. copy, delete, epg, etc),

NB: If the 'Ctrl' key is held down while selecting blocks, you were allowed to select various blocks at the same time just by clicking on them.
 
Search events        

•Search events: Search for events based on the code or name of the assets, orders or types.

•Highlight blocks: This function will highlight (by underlining) all blocks connected to other blocks presented on other station's structure. This function is useful to alert operator the presence of blocks, in the event that modification will affect all blocks across other stations.

•Cancel search: Abort the 'search events' function if active.

Scheduling        

•Strategic Editor: It opens the selected block with the Strategic Editor application, allow managing of programming schedule (i.e. add, change or remove events).

•Executive Editor: It opens the Executive Editor application, allowing to manage the standard schedule (i.e. without a schedule structure) of a certain day.

NB: To facilitate the scheduling process, if you hold down Ctrl key and click on more blocks, it select and activates various functions on the tool bar, for example, the cut and paste function.  The cancel selection button will release those blocks selected.
