Etere Encoder HLS (Apple HTTP Live Streaming) receives a signal from NDI or SDI and encodes it into HLS-compatible files (.m3u8) in several resolutions.
During encoding, it creates 2 “.m3u8” manifest files for each resolution; the second “.m3u8” file contains the tags to cue in and cue out the advertising slots.
The advertising slots are notified by Etere STMan’s SCTE Cue Tone using TCP messages sent through network port 11101 from workstation 001, port 11102 for workstation 002, and so on.
In the workstation where Encoder HLS is installed, only one running application can occur at any time.
NB: The HLS require Etere license ET0208 to be installed in the workstation. The application would check the existence of a license during program startup.
