Events Log - ACMA Compliance Report (Australian Law)

59.5.10.3 Events Log Report (Italian Law)

Report Description

The Events Log Report (Italian law) allows you to generate a document containing a fully customized report of all the events scheduled and subsequently broadcasted in your station, breaking the report pages at the end of each broadcasting day. The Italian law version specifically allows us to fully accomplish article 20, paragraph 4 of the decree-law No. 23 of the 6th of August,1990, concerning the legal recording of transmitted events.

Please note that this report is only available for some localizations such as Chinese, French, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese and USA; the country selection is performed in Etere Configuration.

Report Parameters

The Print Events Log section is composed of two areas, the general and the columns tabs, which are following described:

General

The General tab allows to set the main report parameters, including:

Period (from-to) - Specify here the date interval for which the report will be generated and the exact interval from which transmitted events will be retrieved.

Also, search in the historical database - If enabled, transmitted events will also be retrieved from the historical database (if available),

Check the on-air time before printing
- If enabled, a check will be performed for all transmitted events, pointing out all discrepancies encountered between the end time of an event and the start time of the next one.

Self-produced information events - This option is available only for non-Italian stations to generate a document to request a grant for editing self-produced informative events (e.g., local news).

This report will contain all events (and their durations) within the given period, excluding "commercial" events and "container" events (except if the "also print those events contained within container events or other events" parameter is enabled).

This report doesn't require to be performed for all the yearly playlists but only for two sample playlists, one for the business days (i.e. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays) and another one for the non-business days (i.e. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays).

NB: Please note that the station country and all the station's information are stored in the customer's license—sys file.

Columns

The Columns tab offers a wide range of parameters to customize your reports; in this section, you will be able to:

FORMATS
Set here the format to be used for printing date and time information.
Time - Set the time format (e.g. hh:mm: ss, hh: mm, etc) or the fixed time (e.g., 09:00:00) to be displayed in the report.
Date - Set the date format (e.g. dd/mm/yyyy, mm/dd/yyyy, dd/mm, etc) or the fixed date (e.g., 30/11/2010) to be displayed in the report.
Time zone - Set the timezone (e.g. + 10:00:00 GMT) to offset the start times. For example, if an event start time is 06:30:00 and the time zone is +03, the event will be displayed with a start time of 09:30:30.
Create CSV - Enable this parameter to create, besides the report preview, a . CSV file containing all requested data plus three "extra fields" (agency, independent producer, hearing-impaired program).

ORIENTATION

Set the orientation with which pages will be displayed.
Portrait - The report will be generated by displaying pages vertically.
Landscape - The report will be generated by displaying pages horizontally.

LAYOUT
Customize the report by setting it according to the station-specific requirements.
Customized broadcast method - Set the text displayed here in the 'diffusion means' report field (e.g. NATIONAL).
Remove header altogether - If enabled, all station's heading information (i.e. report date, title, station name, transmission type, etc) will be omitted from the report.
This option must be enabled to print the report on a headed paper.
Display heading - Select the fields that will be included in the report header:
Title: Enable the report name (Events Log Report) to be included as the page header.
Page number: Enable the ability to number all printed pages progressively.
Date: Select to include the print date in the page footer.
Starts from: Set the start page number (default is 1).
Display commercial cluster duration - If enabled, the "notes" column will display the duration of the commercial clusters; otherwise (if disabled), the "notes" column will display the number of events within the commercial clusters.
View the code of the ministerial type - If enabled, the "event details" column will display the event ministerial type (i.e. the category assigned to the event type for being displayed in the report).
Margins - Set here the left, right, top and bottom printing margins of the report.

PARAMETERS
Specify the actions to be applied according to the state of events contained in the schedules.

The event end time must always match with the next event start time - If enabled, it will be checked that the transmitted event's "end time" matches the "start time" of its immediate next event.

Please note that will be excluded from this check all those events:
•which duration is shorter than the specified here,
•which are contained within containers,
•which are contained within an event divided into parts (i.e. exploded).
Also, print those events contained within container events or other events - Although some events are 'clustered' within a single group (e.g., because they are scheduled between two container events), enabling this option will show those events within the report as single lines.

Please note that those events whose type is enabled as a "crowding > break" will be displayed outside the container even if this parameter is disabled.

For the non-transmitted events, print the words - If enabled, the string specified in this field (e.g. ---not transmitted---) will replace the title of non-transmitted events.

For exploded containers, consider only the first segment - By default, all exploded segments are included in the events log report; however, by enabling this option, only the first segment of the exploded event will be included.

RTF file for the custom report header - If it is intended to use a custom header for the Events Log Report, browse and select the document. RTF (rich text format) to be used for importing it.

COLUMNS
Indicate which details (columns) should be included for each event in the report, making it possible to set the column width and move it up or down within the list. The most important columns include:
Date - The date the event (or cluster) has been transmitted.
Event title - The title of the transmitted event (or cluster's first event).
Start time is when the event (or cluster's first event) has been transmitted.
End time is when the transmission of the event (or cluster's last event) has finished.
Event type - The ministerial type of the transmitted event (or cluster).
Event details - The ministerial type details are assigned to the type of the event (or cluster's first event).
Nationality - The country where the event (or cluster's first event) has been produced.
Production year - The year the event (or cluster's first event) has been produced.
Self-produced/Other-produced - Indicates the production type of the transmitted events is:
Self-produced - The asset's "self-production percentage" equals 100%.
Co-produced - The asset's "self-production percentage" is greater than 0% but less than 100%.
Other-produced - The asset's "self-production percentage" is equal to 0%
independent - The asset's "independent producer" flag is enabled.
Notes - This field will display specific information depending on if the line is related to:
•Single event: It will display the duration of the event.
Clustered events: It will display either the cluster's event number or total duration (if the "display commercial cluster duration" parameter is enabled).
NB: Further information on the compilation of the Events Log Report can be found on the official site: https://www.agcom.it/
