In Etere Multichannel Ingest, the ingest operations are split into services, running in the Multichannel Ingest Server, and user interface, running in the Multichannel Ingest workstation, to achieve performance and operations stability.
In an operation-controlled environment, an operator can manage recording channels from ingesting workstations, allowing multiple ingest operations to utilise the services in the ingest server simultaneously.
Installation
During Etere Installation, you must select the Etere feature “multichannel ingest client” to install the Etere Multichannel Ingest Client application. In addition, select the Etere feature “service ingest server” to install the service used by the Multichannel Ingest application.

Etere Multichannel Ingest (server-side)
Etere Ingest service reads and writes an xml file, in C:\Program Files (x86)\Etere, named like Etere.Ingest.ServiceX.xml, which is related to its own service instance.
For example: Etere.Ingest.Service1.xml is related to service “Etere Ingest Service (1)”.
This xml configuration file contains the service parameters, which define how the service works, and the encoding profile, which defines how the recorded file will be.
The service configuration can be made through Etereweb, see chapter 18.4.3.0 Ingest.
In the server where Ingest service runs, you can locate it by the name “Etere Ingest Service (x)” in Windows Services, where the “x” indicates the number of the service instance.
