53 Etere SCTE CueTone Server

An SCTE-104 inserter inserts commands (e.g., splices, cuetones, and Pgm descriptors) into TV broadcasts, managing ad placements and content changes. It places cues for ads, indicates where to insert content, and provides program details. It ensures smooth transitions between segments, allowing targeted ads and local content without interrupting viewing.

To schedule SCTE104 markers via Executive Editor, follow chapter 92.2.14

SCTE markers' time and duration are shown in the main form. The file tab contains a menu with the Configuration, a tester, Save logs and Exit buttons

Install

Choose SCTE CueTone Server from the installer and press Next to install the SCTE104 Inserter

Configuration

Open the module from Start\Etere\Etere SCTE Cuetone Server to start configuring and the same module to create.

•Communication Insert communication Port for Etere to insert the SCTE104

•Ad Inserter: Choose between the currently supported devices (GV XVP 3901, SCTE104 Harmonic and SCTE-35 ML). Each device has a different configuration submenus, and their respective images are shown below

•Logs: Set the number and size of the logs

AS Index: set AS Index. AS Index in SCTE-104 identifies splice events for accurate ad insertion or content replacement

Splice Null Heartbeat Period: Splice null or heartbeat in SCTE-104 is a placeholder message used to maintain synchronization in the broadcast stream during idle periods

Remote Server and Port: Refers to the IP and port of the Inserter machine where Etere connects to
