Resource Configuration

59.6.2.308 Knox Video - Knox Video Technologies resuorce editor

The information displayed in the first part is merely descriptive and shows previously assigned data:

•Code: Shows the path for the resource being edited.
•Type: Shows the resource's type.
•Number: Shows the number identifying the resource in case others of the same type are present.

The user must define the following information:
•Name: Description of the resource being edited.
•Driver: Fixed for this type of device (KNOXRSII).
•Model: Fixed for this type of device (KNOX GENERIC).
•Channel's number: Insert the number of the router's inputs and outputs.
•Router's commutation levels: Some routers allow one to define more commutation levels, that is, to choose what to switch (only audio, audio and video, only video, serial, time code, etc.). This option allows you to set these different levels. Etere supports three kinds of commutation – audio/video, serial, and time code – and choosing the level to activate for every type of commutation is possible.

E.g.:
if the router has the video at level 1 and audio at level 2, activate levels 1 and 2 in the "audio/video" panel;
if on the router any serial commutation is at level 4, enable level 4 in the "serial" board;
(Leave all levels checked if the router doesn't offer this possibility).

Serial connection cable 232:

PC side                         Router side
DB9F                        DB9F
2 Rx ---------------------------------Tx 3
3 Tx -------------------------------- Rx 2
5 GND ---------------------------- GND 5

Knox Video Technologies Resource Editor - User

After setting the user and the program for the resource's activation, it is necessary to set other data:

COM Port Setting:

The router can be controlled via serial cable (in this case, it is required to set the COM port number) or via UDP through the EtereSarvaji application (in this case, one is required to set the IP address of the PC where the application is running and the local port it uses).

COM Configuration:

It is only possible to modify the Baud value (default=9600):
Baud: 9600
Parity: None
Stop bits: 1
Data bits: 8

Backup Router:

Check this option and insert the COM's data if a second router is used as the backup device; otherwise, leave this option unchecked.

The backup router must be exactly like the main one.

Rights:

The router must always be configured as Master. Configure it as a Slave only if part of an Open Master Control.
