This form allows you to define the general characteristics of K2 media servers:
READ-ONLY INFO
Code - Shows the path of the Resource that you are editing.
Type - Shows the type to which the Resource belongs.
Number - Ordinal Number that differentiates the Resource from others of the same type.
RESOURCE PROPERTIES
Name - Brief description identifying the Resource that must be inserted (e.g., K2 Broadcast1, K2 Ingest1).
IP Address - Indicate the IP address of the K2 server (e.g., 195.120.154.12). If inserted, the AMPIP driver will be used to manage the device over the network.
Remote Port - Indicate the Remote Port of the K2 server (default=3811). If inserted, the AMPIP driver will be used to manage the device over the network.
E19 Resource ID - Optionally, insert the ID of the Resource created under the Resource Editor module for this Resource. This identification number is used, for example, to check the storage space usage of the Resource.
NB: The IP address and Remote port data are used for commanding the K2 through the net (not through the serial wire); in this case, the driver AMPIP must be set on the channel.
RESOURCE PARAMETERS
Channels inserted - Enter the number of input and output channels in the K2 resource. You can change the channels quantity at any time, according to your needs; to add some, you only need to raise the number of channels, while to decrease them, you must delete them one by one from the general form RESOURCE EDITOR with the [Delete Resource] button.
Preroll time - Indicate the time, in msec., that the videoserver needs to perform the preroll (default value is 0).
Skip time - Indicate the time, in mmsec., that the videoserver needs to perform the skip between one video file and the other during the onair (default value is 0).
Cue-Rec time - Indicate the time, in mmsec, that the videoserver needs to perform a CueRec. (default value is 0).
This device is a backup of: - In case it will be used as a backup of another video server, indicate it here.
Once compiled, click the [Confirm] button to add the K2 resource to the Resources tree. After which, it will be possible to configure the:
•Device users: Select the Resource and click the [Users] button.
•Device channels: Select the Resource and click the [Modify Resource] button.
•Channels users: Select the resource channel and click the [Users] button.
NB: The Serial connection wire suggested is the SMPTE 207 (SONY standard).
K2 resource editor - User
Indicate which user and the Etere module will be allowed to use the Resource:
READ-ONLY INFO
Resource - Code of the resource channel.
Name - Name of the resource channel.
ID Number - Identification number of the resource channel.
USER INFORMATION
PC Name - Indicate the specific workstation (user) for which the Resource will be allowed. Once selected, it will be automatically retrieved and displayed the ID number and PC name corresponding to the selected user.
Function - Indicate the module (function) on which the user mentioned above will be allowed to use the Resource in question
USER PARAMETERS
Com no. - Indicate the com number of the PC that the device is connected to.
Com configuration:
Available configurations include Baudrate (default=38400), Parity (default=Odd), Databits (default=8) and Stopbits (default=1).
The Resource must be set with the default data displayed here.
Router
Input: Indicate the router output channel the resource input is connected to (-1=not installed)
Output: Indicate the router input channel the resource output is connected to (-1=not installed)
Monitor: Indicate the router output channel to which the prospective monitor is connected. (-1=not installed)
422
Device (out): Indicate the no. of the device to be activated when you open the Resource. (-1=not installed)
Controller (in): Indicate the no. of the controller to be activated when you open the Resource. (-1=not installed)
NB: In exceptional cases where you have a centralized video router, which allows one to commute serial ports, set the data above to 422.
