204.2.1.5 Ingest Logs

The Ingest log files are detailed and keep track of several processes concerning the Etere encoding applications. The log files can be found in the local directory of the workstation where the application runs (Ex. C:\Etere\Log\user.001). Every recording application writes its own log, as every recording workstation does.
The log name is composed as follows: module.exe.user.pcname.device.log. For example, the log named rc.etererc.001.caching.MTX.LOG is the video router log, on the caching workstation for the user.001. Moreover, all the log files' names ending  in "OLD" indicate the log files that are created when the main log file exceeds a certain size (settable). They represent a backup of the older log files. The list of all the different types of recording log files are as follows:

•RC.ETERERC.001.PCNAME.RC.LOG It's the generic recording log file. It keeps track of all the operations processed by the user. The following example shows a playing command given by the operator:
11093 (736) RETE 4                1 2002011019:06:54S1.<<< cmd : mcCmdPlay  in mmsec.109                          11093 (736) RETE 4                1 2002011019:06:54Pressed button <STOP> (Panel active=1)

•RC.ETERERC.001.PCNAME.MTX.LOG
it's the default video router log file. It keeps track of the commands the application sends to the video router device. The information is ordered by date (dd/mm) and hour (HH:mm:ss:ms[frames]). The following example shows a command sent to the video router:

Multi-instance logs

A 4-figures random hexadecimal number (e.g. 0298) is automatically created to identify an instance of Etere Ingest every time it starts writing a log, said number is maintained until the instance closure (i.e. when Etere Ingest is exited). This number is displayed in all log lines under the 4th column:
As shown above, a single log can contain multiple instance ID's (e.g. 0298 and 02B1) related to different logs recorded for different instances.
