How to

202.7.5.3 Avoid Time Shifts

In case the open schedule has been prepared on an Etere system with a specific time zone (central) and then imported into the current system, which has a different time zone (local), the following procedure will guide the operator on how to correctly adjust the program schedule using Strategic Editor alongside with Executive Editor:

1. Adjust (i.e. insert, edit and delete) events using Strategic Editor ONLY on future days (i.e. daily schedules where imported events are not yet present):

Imported events that have not exploded yet (either based on their EDL or into user-defined parts) will be displayed with the correct timing and a status warning.

2. Each time Executive Editor is launched (e.g. by right-click on the schedule and selecting the proper option), the "Recalculate events actual time" function is automatically applied (which is also available for manual launching in the tools menu of Strategic Editor), shifting all the schedule according to the program duration.

3. Once the Executive Editor is closed, the Strategic Editor will display updated information, including the actual time, daily crowing, parental guidance, warning icons, etc.

NB: Please refer to the Etere Configuration: Main and Local Times chapter for detailed information on configuring different time zones.

Recalculating basic structure
If it is intended to use Executive Editor for future schedules, remember to reset the actual times based on the default segment times. This can be done using the 'recalculate basic times structure' tool under Etere Air Sales - Utilities - Miscellaneous:

NB: Etere strongly suggests always performing this action before and after the schedule is prepared on a different time zone is imported.
