59.3.9.9 Asset File Length

Action Description

This template allows the creation of an action to check the file length of a particular video file associated with an asset on a specific meta-device in case of discrepancy (of one or more frames) between the logical and real duration of the asset, the logical duration will be updated with the real one (including SOM and EOM timecodes).

Action Parameters

To create a 'FileLength' action, just compile the following fields under the actions section:

•Name: Enter a name for the current action (e.g. CheckFileLength-On-Proxy),

•Select the devices: Specify the meta device on which the file to be checked is stored,

•Select the codec: If the meta device contains multiple versions (codecs) of a video file, tick off those codecs that you wish to be checked or leave all unselected to perform the check on all versions.

It is important to note that 'FileLength' actions are automatically created for all meta devices (e.g., 'FileLength on metadevice1', 'FileLength on metadevice2', etc.); however, you can create custom actions of this type for performing a file length check simultaneously amongst various meta devices and based on different codecs.

How to use it

Once a 'FileLength' action is created, inserted into a T-workflow and subsequently assigned to an asset to be performed, it must be launched from the Operations By Workflow application inside the Etere Ingest module.
