Etere Ingest allows ingesting media based on the time code embedded in their source tapes; timecoded media is useful to, for example, re-base subtitles from the Subtitles Tool module.
In order to use this feature, you must enable the 'Multifunction and Easy ingest are not 0 based' option under the General Parameters tab within the Parameters module:
Multifunction and Easy ingest are not 0 based
After then, each time you will start an ingest operation from either Easy Ingest or Multifunction Ingest, the "REC with TCIN" option will be available:
REC with TCIN
And depending on the selected source, the time code will be generated differently:
•If the source is a VTR, used Time Code will be the VTR's Mark In,
•Instead, if the source is a LIVE, the Time Code will be the Current Time.
Important considerations
Etere Ingest allows ingesting timecodes in the following ways:
•Store the LTC in the audio,
•Store the VITC in the video (LTC to VTC),
•Store the timecode in the database,
•Store the timecode in the file-structure as XDCAM.
