59.3.9.127 Retrieve from Remote Device

Action Description
The "retrieve from remote device" action allows checking if an asset has a metafile (e.g. pushed to a local site) stored in a given device of a particular remote area, adding said file to the local asset's media list if so.

This action is helpful to, for example, ask a remote site for confirmation that a file has been successfully put on a specific location from the local area that will use the file.

NB: This workflow action does not put the link to the material tab via Etere API. Instead, use the workflow action "Update Remote Asset" to update metadata on a remote site.

NB: A metafile is a database reference of a video file stored on a device and related to a particular asset.

NB: This function requires Etere Web Services to be installed on the remote site.

Action Parameters
The following fields need to be compiled to create a new action:

Name: Enter a descriptive name for the current action (e.g. 'Retrieve from Milan -hires server-'),

Site: Indicate the Etere remote site from which files will be retrieved (e.g., 'Milan station'). Only sites present in the section of the site will be listed here,

Remote device: Specify the meta device from which the file will be retrieved (e.g., 'HiRes server'). Only devices updated under the section of the site will be listed here,

Target device: Choose the local device for storing the retrieved file. All meta devices present in the local system will be listed here,

Path: Select one path (among the ones available for the selected target device) to which files will be associated.

Once compiled, press the 'save' button, and the action will be stored in the Etere database and ready to be used within T-workflows.

How to use it
To be used, this action needs to be included in a T-workflow and subsequently assigned to an asset(s).
