Blackmagic is an audio/video routing switcher controlled by Etere using the IP protocol (the device also supports API and RS-422 interfaces) and providing a variable number of inputs/outputs and an additional level for an output video monitor and a serial port. The device's IP-based controlling makes its management more flexible and saves time since it requires less cabling and fewer devices.
Blackmagic routers can be used as independent routers (for a higher redundancy) or combined using the virtual router technology (for multi-router I/O switching).
Edit Resource Information
The information displayed in the first part is merely descriptive and shows previously assigned data:
•Code: the path of the resource that you are editing is displayed
•Type: shows the resource type (C=Video router)
•Number: indicates the ordinal number that identifies that resource in case others of the same type coexist.
The user must enter the following information:
•Name: description of the resource you are editing.
•Driver: Indicate the driver to be used:
•Blackmagic:
Set the parameters that will permit Etere to control the device via ethernet:
- IP Address: Indicate the IP address of the video hub (e.g., 195.120.154.12)
- Local Port, Indicate Remote Port of the video hub (default=9990)
•Eteresw:
Specify the switching levels by default and for serial connections, respectively. It requires to specify the following parameters:
- Default level (1,2,3,4 or all)
- 422 level (1,2 or 3)
* Please note that the Eteresw driver is no longer in use; it has been maintained only for compatibility.
•Number of channels: insert the number of the router's inputs and outputs.
•Router switching levels: Some routers allow you to determine the switching levels, that is, to define what has to be switched (Audio only, Audio and Video, video only, serial port, etc.). If your router offers this option, levels can be set here. In Etere, you have three kinds of switching: AUDIO/VIDEO, SERIAL PORT, and TIMECODE and for each, you can determine the levels to be installed.
For example, if Video corresponds to level 1 and Audio corresponds to level 2 in your router, you must activate levels 1 and 2 in the AUDIO/VIDEO box. If switching a possible serial port corresponds to level 4, activate level 4 on the SERIAL PORT box (if your router does not offer this possibility, leave all levels installed).
NB: Please note that to "test" the device from the Resource module, ONLY the levels intended to be effectively tested must be enabled (therefore, unused levels must be manually turned off).
Blackmagic Design resource editor - User
Indicate which Etere workstation (user and ID) and the Etere module (function) will be allowed to use the resource. Then, optionally set the following parameter:
Backup Router:
If you wish to manage another router as the Backup router, activate this option, insert com data, or leave the option blank.
Please note that the backup router must be completely THE SAME as the main one.
