HOW TO USE ETERE STUDIO PLAYER
This chapter describe all functions available for all panels in Studio Player. You can divide ETERE STUDIO PLAYER in 3 work areas: MENU PANEL (FILE - ?) - EDIT PANEL (SAVED PLAYLIST - ASSETS SEARCH - NEW PLAYLIST - PLAYLIST PREVIEW - EDIT PREVIEW) - PLAYOUT PANEL (SAVED PLAYLIST - PLAYLIST - PLAYOUT PREVIEW - PLAYOUT)

ImportantNote: in the lower right part is indicated the user used to execute the application.

File: By clicking on this button we have only one option and it is EXIT which can be used to close ETERE STUDIO PLAYER.
?: By clicking on this button we have two options "OPEN FOLDERS" and "SAVE LOGS".
Open Folders: By clicking on this button the system automatically opens the log folders (we can select data or log) to see and analyze the logs in real time.
Save Logs: By clicking on this button the system executes "Saving logs info" and this application can be used to save whole logs of the Etere Studio Player. To learn more about how to save the logs see the chapter "205.3.1 Save Logs".

By clicking on EDIT, when you open ETERE STUDIO PLAYER is selected by default, there are mainly 5 areas (SAVED PLAYLIST - ASSETS SEARCH - PLAYLIST - PLAYLIST PREVIEW - EDIT PREVIEW) where you can manage\create\delete your PLAYLISTS.
StudioPlayer_Edit_Panel
■ SAVED PLAYLIST
In this panel all the playlists created will be displayed and to find them you will only have to select the TYPE and the system will show them to you in the results section sorting them by validity date in a tree structure.
In the Always node you will be able to see all the Playlists with the unlimited validity date set while the others will be sorted based on their validity in the correct node, for example if one is created with validity 09/27/2023 you can find it under the relevant node 09/27/2023. From the list of results you can open a node by clicking on + button (by clicking on - button you'll close the node selected) and using the double-click on one of them to open it and use it in the Playlist panel (the selected one will be highlighted in blue for easy reference).
StudioPlayer_Saved_Playlists
■ ASSETS SEARCH
In this panel you'll can find the assets that you'll can add in your selected playlist. To find an asset you'll only have to select the TYPE of it and the system will show them to you in the results section sorting them by creation date in a tree structure. For example, if an asset was created on 11/08/2023 this will be shown under the relevant node 11/08/2023. From the list of results you can open a node by clicking on + button (by clicking on - button you'll close the node selected) and using the DRAG and DROP you can add the asset selected to the opened playlist (the selected one will be highlighted in blue for easy reference).
StudioPlayer_Assets_Search
ImportantNote: If an asset has visible segments in its EDL, these segments are listed under the asset node, by exploding the asset node. So, using the drag and drop, you can add only the segment select (file som-eom) and not the whole asset. This is valid also for images if the asset type has the "Thumbnail" property.

■ PLAYLIST
Under the PLAYLIST area we have the follow commands:
StudioPlayer_Playlist_Commands
NEW: This button is used to create a new playlist. When you click on it you have to insert these mandatory information NAME (is the name of the new playlist) - TYPE (is the type of the new playlist) - Validity (you can set a validity of your playlist or select always, it is the default value. If you set a validity day the playlist is usable only on that day otherwise if you set always the playlist is ever usable).

IMPORT FROM: This button is used to import the segments from a virtual asset to your playlist. Once clicked on "Import from"->"Virtual Asset" a new form is opened and from this you can find all virtual assets present in your DB. So, by clicking over it the segments of the selected asset have been imported inside the playlist.
StudioPlayer_Import_From_VirtualAsset
EXPORT TO: This button is used to create a new virtual asset from the current playlist. Once you click on it (export to->virtual asset) the system shows you a pop-up message to confirm your action. If you click on (do not confirm), the system will revert back to last saved settings. If you click on confirm, it creates a virtual asset.
StudioPlayer_Export_To_Virtual_Asset
COPY: This function copy a current playlist to a new one. If copying from a virtual asset playlist, it will create also a new virtual asset with the same clips linked. Once you click on it the system asks you to enter the name of the new object and if you click on OK it completes the operation.
StudioPlayer_Copy_Action
DELETE: This function delete the current playlist. If playlists from virtual assets are deleted, the virtual assets used still remain in database.
StudioPlayer_Delete_Playlist
SAVE: This function save the changes made to the current playlist.
CANCEL: Cancel the changes made to current playlist and return to previous playlist. It's the UNDO button.
PROPERTIES: This function display/hide the properties panel of the playlist.
LOAD IN PROGRESS: this bar appears only when a playlist is loading and shows the estimated time to complete the opening action.

■ HOW TO ADD or REMOVE or MODIFY an item into a PLAYLIST
ADD: Once the playlist has been created and opened we can simply drag the playlist from the Asset Search panel and drop into the Playlist view. Upon added to playlist, you can view the drag-and-drop items in Properties tab with proper numbering assigned to the items.

REMOVE: To remove an item from the playlist you have to select the item to delete then click on the DELETE button. Click on SAVE button to apply your modification.

MODIFY: To open the form to edit an item inserted into the playlist you have to select the item then click on the EDIT button.

In the Playlist view, you can view the asset information as below:
Thumbnail: It display the thumbnail of the asset.
Asset: It display asset code and asset description.
Duration: The duration of the asset, as indicated in Media Library.
In: It indicate the starting point (SOM) where the asset would be played. You can click on the timecode to edit the SOM. Upon modified, the SOM would be updated to the asset in playlist, but the changes would not populate to asset in Media Library.
Out: It indicate the ending point (EOM) of the asset in playlist. You can click on the timecode to edit the EOM. Upon modified, the EOM would be updated to the asset in playlist, but the changes would not populate to asset in Valid: This icon indicates a valid file in the resource. If you hover over it with the mouse arrow, a tooltip will show you the path where the file comes from.

■ PLAYLIST PREVIEW
The Preview panel allows you to preview playlist during its creation.
The available control functions includes:
At the left side the Audio track and channels volume. There are the audio mater, it display the audio track and channels volume:
•You can enable/disable the audio track using the top checkbox.
•You can enable/disable the audio channel using the bottom checkbox.
•You can set the audio gain for each channel by moving the cursor.
NB: The number of available channels are defined in the playlist. When more channels are available, only 2 channels would be automatically displayed. You can manually select more channels to be shown during playout.
At the center side there is the Video Preview of your playlist.
At the right side there are:
Video Preview: Enable/Disable the video preview.
Audio Preview: Enable/Disable audio preview.
At the midle side we have:
Item position: Shows the current timecode of the currently playing item.. You also have the blue bar where the progress of the PLAY is updated in real time and asset code and title are written inside the bar.
Item countdown: Shows the countdown of the current playing item in the playlist.
Playlist position: The timecode of the current playing item in the playlist. You also have the pink bar where the progress of the PLAY is updated in real time and it is indicating which item of the total ones is currently in play.
Playlist duration: The total duration of all items in the playlist.
At the bottom side you have the control panel buttons:
Play: Play the playlist. Shortcut key :
Pause: Pause the playlist. Shortcut key : Spacebar
Previous Frame: Back to previous frame. Shortcut key : “<” arrow key
Next Frame: Go to next frame. Shortcut key : “>” arrow key
Previous File: Go to previous item in the playlist. Shortcut key : Ctrl + “<”
Next File: Go to next item in the playlist. Shortcut key : Ctrl + “>”
Single File: Switch on/off to play a single file in the playlist.
Loop: Set on/off the looping of playlist. The looping is done by appending the same clip in the playlist.

■ EDIT PREVIEW
The Edit panel allows you to modify the asset in the Playlist panel.
The available control functions includes:

Previous Frame: Back to previous frame. Shortcut key : “<” arrow key
Next Frame: Go to next frame. Shortcut key : “>” arrow key
Previous File: Go to previous item in the playlist. Shortcut key : Ctrl + “<”
Next File: Go to next item in the playlist. Shortcut key : Ctrl + “>”
Trim IN: You can set the SOM of the item selected.
File IN: Shows the SOM of the item selected.
Trim OUT: You can set the EOM of the item selected.
File Out: Shows the EOM of the item selected.
Cancel: Usable to discard your modify.
Save: Usable to apply\save your modify.
