Comparing the Etere HSM module with other generic backup solutions, both deal with moving files and data between a primary medium (e.g. video server, file server, etc.) and a secondary medium (e.g. cartridge, tape, etc.), a generic backup solution mainly backup files and data into secondary medium and remove the backup data from the primary medium. At the same time, Etere HSM retains the data upon archiving. Most significantly, it can be fully integrated with other global systems workflow to automate the archive and restore operations based on schedules and predefined criteria. In other words, Etere HSM increased operations productivity and achieved data integrity.
