Ad Insertion ETX Playlist Management

52.3.1 Stand-Alone Playlist Management

Whenever Etere Ad Insertion runs in Stand-Alone mode, the playlist management will consider the materials that need to be played relying on Etere Ad Insertion only.

Any other program aired through the Etere Ad Insertion software would not be in the Etere Playlist.

This is because, in Stand-Alone mode, we usually have a 3rd party Playout System on top of that.

So basically, Etere Ad Insertion would take the given signal in INPUT in passthrough and route it in his OUTPUT without controlling those media.

Etere Ad Insertion would start airing the Commerical scheduled into his playlist, according to the configurations in place when the scheduling time approached.

The following picture shows Etere Executive Editor playing a Passthrough signal from a 3rd party Playout Software; as shown in the following image, we have:

. Main and Clone Onair Status: it will show the Ad Insertion MAIN and Ad Insertion CLONE status;

. Main and Clone switch: allows the operators to switch Playout Controls from MAIN to CLONE and vice versa;

. Countdown Timer: shows the countdown timer to the next Commercial Break start;

. Playout Commands: allows operators to control Etere Ad Insertion playout.

PLAY: Starts the playout of the next Commercial Break;

DISCARD: Discards the CUED Commercial Break and SKIP it;

REFRESH: This allows the operators to refresh the CUED events. This enables Etere Ad insertion to RECUE everything.

Events scheduled within Etere Playlist: The daily playlist is filled with all the events that need to be aired.

As you can see, right after the first SEPARATOR, which is in PLAY (light green background) and represent the passthrough signal which is coming from on top playout system, we have the CUED Commercial Break, which is supposed to go on-Air in 40,16 seconds.

You can distinguish it from other blocks by its yellow colour, which means that Etere Ad Insertion already places them in CUE, waiting to start playing them according to the given scheduled time or when the GPI or SCTE trigger arrives.
