201.2.1.16 Diffusion of Rights

What does diffusion of rights mean?

The diffusion of rights is a key part of the licensing rights management, they figure in the purchase order (i.e. in the rights agreement) and it is necessary to enter into the Database by specifying the Area(s) where certain asset can be broadcasted, the Media(s) to be transmitted and the territories to where it will be broadcasted.  In essence these rights talks about where and how the assets can be transmitted.
In the following example of rights diffusion, 'MTV' station can transmit the single/season program in question in the following way:
•The 'MTV' station can transmit though 'MTV Europe' via Sat to Europe and via Web to America and Asia.
•'MTV' can also transmit through 'MTV

Italy' via terrestrial and UMTS to Italy.
The main toolbar, positioned in the top of the window, provide functions to manage purchase order lines and define the diffusion of rights:
