In the "Resource map" the following tools are available to give the user a simple and specific view of resources:
Refresh - Updates the current view and all connection status.
Auto-refresh - Pause/Start the automatic update of the resources viewer to for example, automatically highlight pinged devices, point out active connections, etc.
Please note that each time the view is refreshed, current devices selections are canceled; in order to avoid this inconvenience just pause the "auto-refresh".
NB: This function will be available only if the "automatic view refresh" option has been enabled under the "Options" section.
Zoom in - Increase the screen view of the resources map.
Zoom out - Decrease the screen view of the resources map.
Options - Open the "Options" form which allows setting specific colours for each module and also enable the automatic view refresh of resources.
View connection type - Select from the drop-down list the connection types to be displayed on the resource map: All, Video, LAN, Other or Only used connection. This latter option will visualize only those connections currently in use.
Modules filter - Select the station -> workstation -> module and related functions to be filtered in the resource view.
Frequently used filters can be saved as by pressing the [Save filter] button so it will be possible to quickly apply these filters the next time the "modules filter" is used.
Find - Search for specific devices in the resources map just by entering the device (or a part of it) and clicking the [Search] button, a list containing all devices matching the inserted criteria will be displayed. The available searches are:
•Find Device: Search for a particular device(s).
•Find Device with Etere software installed: Search for a certain device(s) with the condition that an Etere module is currently installed on it.
In order to highlight a searched device in the map, just select it from the results list.
View - Provides the following tools for managing the way resources are displayed:
•All SNMP messages: Show all the received SNMP messages.
•Archive all active SNMP messages for all devices: Set the messages of all displayed devices as archived, thus cleaning any visual warning from the resource view. This option is also available for specific devices through the right-click contextual menu or the SNMP Messages side bar.
•Export schema to an image file: Save the current resource view as an JPG image file.
Ping devices - Ping all devices in the map which have set as a parameter 'Pingable' and an IP address configured. The system pings these devices and updates the map with a red balloon on those resources that have an error message concerning the health of their connection and green balloon if there is no error. Once the ping command is completed, a message will appear next to the Ping devices button indicate the date and time when the last ping command occurred.
