73 Etere Memory

Etere Memory is the solution developed by Etere to automatically archive digital audio/video copies of the programming broadcast by any Etere Channel or from any input (SDI\NDI\STREAM\WEB) in the hard disk. This feature complies with legal requirements for data integrity.

Etere Memory provide a user-friendly interface with real-time information (e.g. file size, remaining free space, etc) on recording files. Etere Memory eliminates expensive tape maintenances for video-logging, allowing record and preview contemporaneously with just a few frames of delay. The features of Etere Memory are illustrated below.

•Versatility of use: use Etere Memory to keep up to 100% accurate trace of client's transmitted content, and benchmark channels transmissions including competitors information.

•Desktop and web interfaces: Etere Memory allows browsing through a desktop interface (with powerful capabilities to turn a selected video into a sub-clip enhanced with timecode information and share it across the station's network) and a web interface (designed to share video contents all over the network using the Microsoft Media Streaming protocol for faster viewing and effective bandwidth exploitation).

•Multi-licensed recording: Etere Memory allows logging the video transmission of a station across different outputs (e.g. terrestrial, satellite, IP, etc), recording and storing the output in individual media files named accordingly to their source and output.

•Streaming capabilities: Etere Memory supports recording content from a streaming source (e.g. from remote locations) and playing recorded video in streaming (e.g. across the network), thus permitting to acquire and distribute video content without a video cable infrastructure.

•SNMP alarms: Etere Memory is able to detect loss of video, black video, or frozen video and alerts user using SNMP messages. These alarms can be converted by Etere SNMP console in acoustic,e-mail or SMS.

•Self-Maintained: Etere Memory is capable of capturing from video card channel(s) using a wide range of video formats, either continuously (24/24 hours) or intermittently (user-defined day times), deleting older files automatically based on user-defined timeframe.

•Audience integration: if Etere Memory is used to record competitors' transmissions, it present a chart audience wizard to better understand your competitors' audience composition. Importing of 'arianna' audience files is supported.

•Scheduling integration: Etere Memory is given by Etere Automation, so you can point out and click your as run log. In this way you can see what has really happened on-air. This integration makes it possible to copy single programs taking away commercial breaks for future clip use.

•Media Manager integration: is meant for both local or network video clip storage in order to prevent system faults and to avoid data loss. The integration provides full file maintenance with storage and periodical deletion.

•Database independent: Etere Memory works independently from the database, connecting to it only to save configuration changes.

NB: The Etere Memory module is an unattended server program worked similar with Data Mover, the application would connect to SQL database during SQL query and disconnect from SQL database upon query, this would prevent database disconnection during the cluster switch.
