Resource Configuration

59.6.2.343 Snell Sirius 800 resource editor

The Snell Sirius 800 series is a flexible hybrid video and audio routing router. The flagship model, the Sirius 830, offers a more compact 288 x 288 frame size for mid- to large-scale studio or OB productions, with the ability to add 144 independently controllable outputs for connection to Snell's MV-Series or any third-party multiviewer solution; the Number of channels of the Sirius 830 is variable with a maximum limit of 1024x1024.

This form allows you to define the general characteristics of a Snell Sirius 800 router device:

READ-ONLY INFO

Code -The path of the resource that you are editing is displayed.
Type - Shows the type to which the resource belongs.
Number - Ordinal Number that differentiates the resource from others of the same type.
Driver - Select the driver to be used to control the SIRIUS 800 video router:
SIRIUS: Command the router via serial
SIRIUSIP: Command the router via IP Standard
SIRIUSIPDC: Command the router via IP double-controller
EtereSW: It is no longer in use; it's maintained only for compatibility.
Type - The model of the router is fixed to SIRIUS 800 Generic.

RESOURCE PROPERTIES

Name - A brief description that identifies the resource must be inserted.
IP Address - If the selected protocol is IP-based (SIRIUSIP), it will be required to set the IP address of the device (e.g., 123.456.789.1).
NB: Please note that when using the SIRIUSIPDC driver, it will be possible to set the two IP addresses of the device network cards by entering them separated by a comma (e.g. 123.456.789.1, 123.456.789.3).
Local Port - If the selected protocol is IP-based (SIRIUSIP), it will be required to set the device's local port. The default value for the standard protocol is "2000".
NB: Please note that when using the SIRIUSIPDC driver, it will be possible to set the two Local ports of the device network cards available on the router by entering them separated by a comma (e.g. 5006, 5007).
E19 Resource ID - Optionally, insert the ID of the resource created under the Resource Editor module for this resource. This identification number is used, for example, to check the storage space usage of the resource.

RESOURCE PARAMETERS

Number of channels - Enter the Number of input and output channels the resource provides. You can change the Number of channels at any time according to your needs. To add some, you only need to raise the Number of channels, while to decrease them, you must delete them one by one from the general form RESOURCE EDITOR with the [Delete Resource] button.
Router switching levels - Some routers allow one to define more commutation levels and choose what to switch (only audio, audio and video, only video, serial, time code, etc.). This option allows you to set these different levels. Etere supports three kinds of commutation – audio/video, serial, and time code – and it is possible to choose the level to activate for every type of commutation. For instance:

If the router has the video at level 1 and audio at level 2, enable levels 1 and 2 in the AUDIO/VIDEO panel;

If on the router, any serial commutation is at level 4, enable level 4 in the SERIAL panel;
(Leave all levels checked if the router doesn't offer this possibility).

Once compiled, click the [Confirm] button to add the DSK resource to the Resources tree. Afterwards, it will be possible to configure the following:
Device users: Select the resource and click the [Users] button.
Snell Sirius 800 resource editor - User
Indicate which user and the Etere module will be allowed to use the resource:

READ-ONLY INFO

Resource - Code of the resource.
Name - Name of the resource.
ID Number - Identification number of the resource.

USER INFORMATION

PC Name - Indicate the specific workstation (user) for which the resource will be allowed. Once selected, it will be automatically retrieved and displayed the ID number and PC name corresponding to the selected user.
Function -Indicate the module (function) on which the user mentioned above will be allowed to use the resource in question

USER PARAMETERS

Backup router - The Bkp router is managed with two network cards that can be set in the resource.
User rights - The router is always configured as Master; configure it as Slave only when part of an Open Master Control.

In case the router driver is serial (SIRIUS), it is necessary to configure the following data:

USER PARAMETERS

Com Number - If the LOGO can be controlled directly through a serial connection, set the com number of the computer that the device is connected to.
Via UDP - In case the LOGO can be controlled directly through UDP with the Etere Sarvaji software, indicate the IP address of the computer that EtereSarvaji runs on and the Local Port which EtereSarvaji uses for listening.
Com configuration: - Available configurations include: Baudrate (default=38400), Parity (default=E), Databits (default=8) and Stopbits (default=1).

The resource must be set with the default data displayed here.
422 -

• Device (out): Indicate the no. of the device to be activated when you open the resource.
(-1=not installed)

Controller (in): Indicate the no. of the controller to be activated when you open the resource.(-1=not installed)

NB: Only in special cases where you have a centralized video router, which allows one to commute serial ports, set the data referred to above to 422.
