What is the white-list-priority?
The white-list-priority is a criteria handled by Etere that allows the scheduling system to decide what to do in case the space assigned to a current-scheduling-event is occupied by another already-scheduled event.
The white-list-priority is specified during the creation of either a proposal or an order, and it is used to maintain the contractual scheduling goals every time a contractual event is unable to be scheduled in its expected commercial space either automatically, moving scheduling/scheduled events during the programming phase into either White Lists or Black Lists depending on their white-list-priority.
Automatic placement on White/Black lists
First of all, in order to place events in black and white lists automatically, their automatic use must be enabled as described in the Enabling the use of BL and WL chapter.
Events are deposited in White Lists and Black Lists from the modules listed below under the following conditions:
WHITE LISTS
Module - Air Sales Scheduler & Orders
Insertion conditions : Every time an order line is scheduled either manually or automatically, all spots unable to be scheduled (e.g. full segment) will be managed as follows:
•WL management enabled: Already scheduled events will be removed from their segment in case they have a lower white-list-priority, after which, they will be placed on the White List.
•WL management disabled: Already scheduled events won't be replaced.
BLACK LISTS
Module - Air Sales Scheduler & Orders
Insertion conditions : Every time an order line is scheduled either manually or automatically, all spots unable to be scheduled (e.g. full segment) will be managed as follows:
•Auto-blacklist management enabled: Unplaceable spots will be placed in the black list.
•Auto-blacklist management disabled: Unplaceable spots will remain as unscheduled.
Module - Executive Editor
Insertion conditions : Every time a contractual event is deleted, it will be still considered as scheduled (in an alternative schedule) until one of the following functions is performed:
•Auto-blacklist management enabled: the Air Sales integration function "Insert in black list all events deleted from the schedule" will be available to move deleted spots to black lists.
•Auto-blacklist management disabled: the Air Sales integration function "Definitely remove Air Sales events from the trash" will be available to definitively delete spots and make them re-schedulable.
Module - Weekly Schedule
Insertion conditions : Every time a block is replaced, it will be possible to decide what to with its contained spots which are unable to be scheduled (e.g. wrong type, wrong period, etc):
•Auto-blacklist management enabled: The "Delete and insert in BL" option is used to move unplaceable commercial events into the Black List and use the "Delete" option to permanently remove unplaceable commercial events from schedules.
•Auto-blacklist management disabled: The "Delete and insert in BL" and "Delete and Insert in BL" options will be used to move unplaceable commercial events into the BL (e.g. to reschedule them at a later time).
NB: A full segment is a segment containing an already scheduled event which cannot be replaced by the currently scheduling event because it has a higher white-list-priority.
Example of placement
For instance, in case a contractual event (e.g. A) is being scheduled automatically by the Air Sales Scheduler module on all the expected spaces dictated by the order, and at some point, the system encounters that an expected space is occupied by another contractual event (e.g. B), one of the actions listed above will be performed according to the white-list-priorities of both events:
•If one between the event A or the event B has a white-list-priority equal to zero (i.e.: disabled), no action is taken, and the scheduling process skips the occupied space and moves forward to the next expected space.
•If A event has a white-list-priority greater than the event B, the event A is scheduled replacing the event B (which is moved in the White List of the related scheduling day),
•If event A has a white-list-priority less than the event B, the event B remains scheduled and the event A is moved in the Black List of the related scheduling day.
Note
In case the contractual event with white priority is "free", it will be able to replace only other "free" contractual events (with a lower white list priority).
