201.1.1 Glossary

Before start working with the Etere BMS, it is important to understand the elements which make up the rights management process, it is highly recommended  to understand the following glossary:

Asset - Also known as content, is the audio/video essence of a television program.

Event - The scheduled performance of a program within a broadcast schedule.

Program - A content intended for broadcast on television. Depending on its format, a television program may be either a single program (i.e. one-time production) or season program (i.e. recurring production).

Program type - The type of a program is generally given according to its genre. Some of the most common program types include animated cartoons, children shows, comedies, game shows, news programs, police shows, reality programs, science fiction shows, situation comedies (sitcoms), soap operas, sport events, talk shows, etc.

Purchasing order - License related to the purchase of broadcast rights for a program, used by Etere for controlling its scheduling placements and costs.

ReRun - A repeat performance of an already broadcasted run.

Run - The first broadcast performance of a program.

season program - A group of television programs (which fall under the same name and are called episodes) intended to have a recurring broadcast (e.g. soap operas, comedies, animated cartoons, etc).

Single program - An individual television program intended to have a one-off broadcast (e.g. movies, news, game shows, sport events, etc).
