Etere allows system administrators (i.e. users with supervisor capabilities) to view and modify the permissions present in this section; it will be enough to follow the next simple procedure:
1. Select the station or stations on which rights will be applied,
2. Indicate the group or groups for which the rights will be set,
3. All Etere permission (e.g. access, base, objects, functions, etc.) will be displayed, indicating their current status through a set of icons:
4. All Etere permissions present in this section can be managed (i.e. enabled or disabled) for the selected group(s) just by making right-clicking on them (either on a single item or an entire category) and using the following options:
Allowed - Set the selected permission(s) as allowed.
Denied - Use it to turn off the selected permission(s); set it as denied.
Default - Set the selected permission(s) to its default value.
Change default rule - Specify if the permission(s) in question should be allowed or banned by default.
5. Once finished, press the [Save] button to save all changes.
Note
If a user belongs to two or more groups, effective permission will be the union of all permission granted to their belonging groups (granted permission will prevail over denied permission). For instance, if the "UsrWeb03" user belongs to the "Memory-RL" group, which allows media copying and also to the "Planning" group, which denies media copying, that user will be allowed for media copying since the granted permission prevails in the union.
If the asset is read-only, it can be changed from Admin or if the current and asset operators are the same.
