Secondary Events

84.2.4.27 Secondary Events Planning - What is it and what is it for?

The Secondary Events Planning form, available under the tools menu, is a useful module that permits to automatically schedule secondary events (including crawls) according to user-defined criteria based on either specific time slots or event durations/types. All provided features have been summarized in the following key points:
➢ Recursive insertion within profiles
➢ Scheduled appearances information
➢ Planned data monitoring from EE

The Secondary Events Planning tool provides operators with two different interfaces for planning secondary events, thus allowing a more suitable and efficient insertion of secondary events. These sections are following listed and subsequently explained across this chapter:
Time based planning
Duration/Type based planning

Planned secondary events (time based and duration/type based) can be applied to scheduled events through the following options:

Automatically - Planned secondary events will be automatically applied every time a schedule is published only If the "Insert secondary events in any EE publication" parameter is enabled in Etere Configuration.

Manually - Planned secondary events can be manually applied to an open schedule by using the "Apply Secondary events as defaults" function from Executive Editor.
