Action Description
The Download Ready action allows T-workflows (e.g. copy, transcoding) to indicate, even before the T-workflow completion, that a particular file is now available on a specific meta device with a particular codec.
This kind of action is used, for example, in Etere Web to inform the "Download Manager" about the availability of a file (e.g. transferred via T-workflow to a download path); that is, it tells the application when the file is ready to be downloaded and therefore its download link can be activated.
NB: Please note that if the T-workflow containing the "download ready" action is reset, the "download ready" status of the related asset will also be reset, thus making it unavailable for download.
Action Parameters
Under this section, it is possible to create new actions based on the following parameters:
•Name: Give the action a brief and self-descriptive name (e.g. "Download ready from MyDevice5-WMV").
•Select device: Specify the meta device (e.g. MyDevice5) on which the metafile to be set as "ready for download" is stored.
•Select codec: Specify the codec (e.g. WMV) with which the metafile to be set as "ready for download" is encoded.
How to use it
Download Ready actions can be used (in the T-Workflow designer) to, for example, indicate to Etere Web that a file has been restored (e.g. codec=wmv and metadevice=upload) to make it available for being downloaded by a web user.
