The Task section also allows operators to view and respond to the T-workflow-based requests sent by web-users about performing specific operations from the web service.

Detailed information on web requests can be found in the proper Web Requests Management chapter.

Responding to web requests

Pending web requests (i.e. waiting for a response) can be managed in the bottom part of the Task tab. Here, the operator will be able to quickly and easily settle them following the next procedure:

1. The operator search for all those assets which have pending requests running, these using the web request search filters (request type). Once found, it will be possible to open the asset (or assets) for which the web requests will be settled:

Resources Management

2. Under the worksheet tab, the operator will be able to respond to all selected web requests just by compiling the following data and pressing the [Save] button:

Requests

Requester - It indicates the username of the person who has made the request.
Request - Here will be detailed the request type (e.g. download metafile).
Codec -
It indicates the codec (e.g. WMV) requested by the web-user.
Notes - In this field, the operator is able to enter any further information concerning the request.
Response - Select here the response for the request, that is, if it will be either accepted or denied.

3. Responded requests are automatically removed form "Requests" section and moved to the "Temporary Rights" section, there, it will be possible to consult and also manage current approved temporary requests through the following functions:

Temporary Rights

Add - Give new rights to a specific person for a certain action (e.g. download metafile) codec until a given date and time.
Edit - Modify existing permissions. For instance, to change the codec or the date.
Delete - Use it to remove the selected right from the system.
Set as expired - Allows to set a certain right as "expired" in order to deny it.
Show expired - If enabled, there will be included in the list also those rights already expired (and therefore no more valid).

Please note that all information regarding web requests is also stored in the asset Operations tab (where all certified operations are logged).

NB: It's worth mentioning that managing web requests is also possible for batch asset modification operations (i.e. settle a response for a group of selected assets).
