59.9 System Maintenance

What is Etere System Maintenance?
The importance of the maintenance process for every system is a well-known fact; being Etere a reliable software which takes care of the most important parts of the broadcasting business, it must keep its system always updated and free of errors.

The Etere System Maintenance application is the dedicated solution for providing stations with the ability to perform maintenance and utility operations on the Etere database. This tool has been designed for maintaining the database under a management environment, which permits updating the database structure, the reports repository, the multi-language terms, generating statistics, and much more.

Does the System Maintenance require special rights?
The only system maintenance operation that requires "SQL administrator" permissions is "Check database structure" (Main, DR, and Historical). Suppose a user attempts to perform any of these operations without administrator rights. In that case, a message will be displayed indicating that Etere is "unable to perform the system maintenance because the user doesn't have permission to perform this action".

Also, please ensure that the SQL Server Browser Service is started as a network service for listening to incoming requests for Microsoft SQL Server resources and provides information on SQL Server instances to facilitate system maintenance.

Note: When defining Server Roles in SQL Server, the “Public” and “sysadmin” roles should be checked to ensure the proper functioning of Etere applications.
