Adding Media Files
In order to add media manually to the asset right click and select [Add media] option from the right-click menu:
1. Compile the following information (which is the same for new and edited metafiles):
Name: Enter the name of the metafile.
Device: The device in which the media currently is found (only those devices configured in Resource Editor will appear in the drop down list).
Codec: Insert information regarding the codec of the metafile.
SOM - EOM: Optionally compile the SOM/EOM of the metafile.
Duration: Optionally, enter the approximative duration of the metafile.
Metadata: This function allows editing the Flexi-metadata related to the metafile (i.e. the template associated to the metafile's codec).
This function is also available under the Media tab but here it allows to also edit read-only metadata.
Offline: Tick off the 'Off-line' box in case the media file is off-line, that is, it is not yet present in the system,
Path: Make double click in this field to select the path (i.e. metadevice) on which the media file is exactly stored.
Filename: Indicate the filename with which it is stored (the maximum filename length will be 20 characters in case Etere Automation is installed and 32 characters if it doesn't).
2. Once a media has been added, it can be edited any time just by making right-click on a certain media and selecting the [Edit media] option.
Besides adding media files, the operator can also link the current asset to an existing media files just by selecting the [Associate existing media] option.
NB: When editing media file in Media Data, the “DELIVERABLE” rights in “CLOUD-DEVICES for Web users” must be set to “Allowed” in the Rights Management configuration.
Removing Media Files
There are two ways for removing a 'media' from the media list of the asset, these functions are:
• Delete media: Remove the metafile from the database, including all links to the current and any other asset.
• Delete link: Remove only the link between the metafile and the current asset.
NB: In order to update the changes performed in this section and to make the media file(s) appears in the Media list under the Media tab, just press the "refresh" button.
Adding Media Files by Group
Media Files can also be added by group.
Group by Codec: This function allows a group of Codecs to be added. For example, AVI, MPEG-4, WMA.
Group by Metadevice: This function allows a group of Metadevices to be added.
Group by Flexi-Metadata: This function allows a group of Flexi-Metadata to be added.
