Etere STMan is the application that provides broadcasters with a multi-layer and real-time management of secondary objects associated with scheduled events; these objects include graphical elements (e.g., logos, crawls, subtitles, channel branding, etc.) and device commands (e.g., script, hex pass-through, channel switch, etc.).
The STMan module will be connected to the central distributed Etere system to execute specific actions each time it detects that a scheduled event has secondary objects linked to it. The diagram below clearly illustrates how Etere uses STMan to manage secondary events associated with scheduled events during a synchronized playout:
Secondary Event Management
Etere combines all the features mentioned above into a single module able to manage all graphical features, including:
•An advanced graphic controller for the automation playout,
•Ability to control multiple graphics for a single primary event,
•Send parameters to the graphics retrieved from the schedule and the asset form.
Use STMan to, for example, send custom crawls to a titler, read data from the database, do simultaneous subtitling with the automation, send commands to external graphical systems, etc.
Moreover, STMan keeps itself always synchronized with the scheduled and the automation schedules, making it a real-time software that can manage even last-minute changes.
When connecting to Etere systems, the STMan timeout threshold is set at 30 seconds. The secondary events will not be aired if there is no signal from distributed systems after the threshold.
