56 Etere Automation

Etere Automation is the TV automation software which sends all On-air schedules prepared in Etere Scheduling. This software can be single-channel or multi-channel. It manages video servers, master controls, switches, titlers and logo generators. Refer to the Supported Devices chapter for a complete list of supported devices.

Etere Automation interacts with other Etere modules; for example, the scheduling is managed by Etere Scheduling, where the schedules to broadcast must be published. Events in the schedule must have an associated media or a valid input channel for live events. The Automation can transmit streaming events according to the videoserver capabilities, play in A/B switch mode and remote several devices among the large list of the supported ones, using the network, serial, and GPI connections.
Automation

Etere Automation runs independently from the Etere' SQL Server database since it must be fault tolerant and resilient; Etere Automation reads the various information needed for the broadcast from locally-stored files, including the broadcast playlists from tpal[date].dbf files located in a 'publishing shared folder' and the devices information from the auremote.ini file stored in Etere's installation folder. Thanks to its database-independent capabilities, Etere Automation can offer different levels of fault tolerance, allowing it to be used in Backup Mode, Master/Clone Mode, and Disaster Recovery Mode.
