70.3.6.7 Multiple libraries

As shown in the "Common usage scenarios" chapter, Etere HSM supports managing multiple libraries located in either the same or different geographical areas.

Workflow implementation
The implementation of HSM T-workflows to archive and restore assets across multiple libraries is almost the same as regular HSM workflows, the basic structure is shown below:
Multi-Library Archive T-workflow
Action - Set current metafile
Description : Indicates the device (e.g. LoRes-Miami) and codec (e.g. MP4) of the file to be archived.
Action - Set HSM archiving media pool
Description : Indicates the media pools (e.g. MP_Proxy_Miami, MP_Proxy_Sydney and MP_Proxy_London) where files will be archived, specifying a selection priority.
Action - HSM archive current metafile
Description : Commands the HSM Headquarters to archive a file (e.g. MP4 @LoRes-Miami) into a selected media pool (e.g. MP_Proxy_Miami).

Multi-Library  Restore T-workflow
Action - HSM Restore
Description : Commands the HSM Headquarters to restore a certain file (e.g. MP4) from a specific library server (e.g. Petasite_Miami) that contains the file's related tape.

Important considerations
When managing multiple libraries, it's important to note the following considerations:
▪Media pools must be defined for specific locations (e.g. MP_Proxy_Miami, MP_Proxy_Sydney, MP_Proxy_London, etc.)

▪Tapes are automatically associated to libraries (e.g. Petasite_Miami, IBM_Sydney, Quantum_London, etc.) after being used for archiving:

▪Cloud-devices can be defined for locations (e.g. HiRes_Miami, HiRes_Sydney, HiRes_London, etc.) to allow a differentiated management of files:
