84.2.2.13 Snipes - Properties

The "Snipes properties" form is the window where all the properties of the snipe are displayed and edited. Available properties include:

Programma (program): Event matched to the snipe, either automatically or manually.
1. Only programs with a external code are available for selection.
2. The same program can be related to multiple snipes.

System ID (system id): Unique identifier of the program related to the snipe.

ID relazione (relation id): Global progressive number of the snipe in the system.

Tipo snipe (snipe type): Type of snipe that determines the parameters to be available. Supported types are following described:
• Present_NextThe snipe consists of one graphic and multiple texts, related to the current and next program (upcoming event, prime time event, prime time event on another station).
• CrawlThe snipe consists of one text (800 chars maximum). The number of rows is determined by the template placed in the playlist. The "crawl loop" will be manually managed as it's considered an exception.
• Countdown_DayThe snipe consists of two texts, the first one is a negative number and the second one is the title of the program. This snipe is placed in top left.
• AppuntamentoThe snipe consists of multiple texts over a maximum of 3 rows, and its duration is the  same as the entire program. This snipe is placed in top right.
NB: The first parameter in the snipe must not be empty, else the snipe would be failed with error “Parameter 1 is not valued”
• Animato_StandardThe snipe consists of one graphic and three texts, and its duration is limited (e.g. 10s). This snipe is specific for each station.
• Animato_AdHocThe snipe consists of an animated graphic that ends in itself, without other parameters.
• DVEThe snipe consists of multiple static and animated graphics as well as texts.

Posizione (position): Indicate the position (with respect to the program) at which the snipe will be executed:
• Inizio - The secondary object is loaded and executed at "n" frames after the start of the program/part
• Fine - The secondary object is loaded and executed at "n" frames before the end of the program/part
• Tutto - The secondary object is loaded and executed at the start of the program/part (i.e. at 0 frames) for the entire duration of the program/part.
Note: A program can have only one snipe with a "position=tutto" parameter.
1. In case multiple consecutive events have a snipe with "position=tutto" and "duration=0", the snipe will be considered as one and will start with the first program and end with the last segment of the last program. For instance, here below is illustrated the execution of a "countdown_day  graphic" snipe for 4 consecutive programs:
|0s
|50s
|110s
|160s
|200s
[Prog A]
| Start snipe
[Prog B]
[Prog C]
[Prog D]
End snipe |

Segmenti (segments): Specify how to run the snipe for the matched program. Available modes include:
• Programma - Run the snipe for the entire program
• OgniParte - Run the snipe for each exploded part (i.e. logical segment) of the program.
Note: Multiple consecutive parts of the same program are considered as one, so a snipe execution can start in a part (e.g. p1) and continue in the following one (e.g. p2).

Offset: The offset time at which the snipe should be loaded and executed (with respect to the program), that is, the value of the "load object at" and "execute command" of the secondary object:
In case the offset (e.g. 10s) is wrong, that is, less than the value of the parameter "Posticipare le snipes programmate prima di" (delay snipes scheduled before of)¹, the system will automatically set the "load object at" and "execute command" values of the secondary object as said parameter (e.g. 40s) to correct the issue:
1. This parameter is set in the "Import Mediaset" (User parameters > Path and period for flows usage > Snipes).
2. For "Countdown_Day" type, this parameter is zero, to coincide with the start time of the program.
3. In case the automatic offset correction doesn't solve the issue, a warning will be displayed in the playlist.

Template: The macro of secondary events to be associated to program, based on this selection secondary events are associated to the program.
1. Only macros associated to events scheduled in the last "7" days will be displayed.
2. Macros are set in "Etere Configuration", under "Settings > Executive Editor > Macros" section.
3. The "Remove object after the given duration" option must be disabled on all macros used for snipes, as their duration will be automatically managed by the system.

Durata: The time length (hh:mm:ss.ff) for which the snipe will run.
Note: If the snipe's duration (plus offset) is greater than the program's duration, a warning will be displayed in the playlist.

Primo passaggio (first run): Indicates the day (dd/mm/yyyy) of the first transmission of the program.
Note: This parameter is available only for the "Countdown_Day" snipe type.

Parametri (parameters): The (up to six) parameters to be passed along with the text script.
1. All parameters are concatenated into a single string, using the pipe character | as a separator.
2. In case the length of the string exceeds the limit, a warning will be displayed and the snipe won't be executed.
3. All parameters are case-insensitive, it accepts UPPERCASE and lowercase characters, or BOTH.
4. All parameter's names cannot be modified.

Grafiche statiche (static graphics): The parameters to activate up to three static graphics.
1. All parameters are concatenated into a single string, using the pipe character | as a separator.
2. The aspect ratio of assets will be inserted at the start of the CTM parameters.

Grafiche dinamiche (dynamic graphics): The parameters to activate up to three dynamic graphics.
1. All parameters are concatenated into a single string, using the pipe character | as a separator.
2. The aspect ratio of assets will be inserted at the start of the CTM parameters.

Once all properties are set, press the [Ok] button to save changes.
