208.5.1 EDT protocol

What is EDT protocol for?
EDT (Etere Data Transfer) is a technology developed by Etere based on the high-performance data transfer protocol UDT (UDP-based Data Transfer), it uses a streamlined algorithm capable to utilize all the available WAN bandwidth, it is the ideal solution for data intensive transfers over high speed wide area networks.

EDT

EDT prevents bottlenecks caused by a high latency connection, Etere suggest using EDT on those stations which transfers media files between servers spread over a high-latency WAN (i.e. greater than 100 milliseconds), for example, if servers are located in different geographical locations, EDT would increase up to seven times the transfer speed compared to FTP protocol.
