The list below provides a brief description of the client modules that are part of Etere software. All of them will be explained in details throughout the chapters included in this section.
ActiveSync
Scans (manually or automatically) all video files stored on a certain metadevice to either create or update links between video files and Etere's database, thus synchronizing possible differences between stored and actual data.
It has recently been turned into a service, keeping the same functionalities and improving its overall performances.
Ad Insertion
Transmits on-air playlists with different commercial clusters across different networks. It uses a split system approach differentiating the automation structure for primary and split channels, with further automatic synchronization on the primary engine and on-the-fly fillers insertion.
Air Sales
Takes care of the commercial functions of the station, it's able to generate on-air schedules of events to be aired and controls the sales/contract management and billing of air time, stores program formats, and provides management for the placement of commercials and promotional materials within the scheduled on-air programs.
The client version is now almost discontinued and most of the Air Sales features are moved into Etereweb.
Air Sales lite
Perform a versatile planning and commissioning of commercial events, it doesn't count with a schedule grid for managing the commercial air-time but is able to provide stations with a useful tool capable of taking care of the "lite" commercial management of the the station.
Aligner
Keeps the published schedule (stored in the SQL database) constantly synchronized with the automation one (stored in a local independent database file), this is important as broadcast timings can vary from those in the published schedule.
Automation
Sends on-air all broadcast schedules ready for transmission, across a single or multi-channels. It manages video servers, master controls, switches, titler's and logo generators.
Basic QC
An integrated file-based module for performing Quality Controls (QC) via workflow.
BMS
Provides monitoring over the rights status of single and multiple assets (series), giving you total control over the rights management process through the use of an easy procedure which consists in the definition of licensing contracts containing the rights of specific assets.
The client version is now almost discontinued and most of the BMS features are moved into Etereweb.
Cart Manager
Displays the status of the XDCAM Cart and the various VTR's it holds, allowing to use them for a manual or automatic playout and/or ingest, all under a simple and user-friendly interface.
CensorMX
A Live Censorship system for managing all aspects of a broadcaster's censorship requirements. It contains all essential tools to allow broadcasters to quickly and efficiently replace footage, it also allows broadcasters to build a library of clips that are able to be quickly inserted into time-critical live footages.
Configuration
Centralizes the main settings of the various modules that made up an Etere system, allowing administrators to easily and efficiently configure the system to use Etere. This module includes key system management tool: the Monitoring Console, which allows to have a global overview of the system and ensure the correct functioning of workflows, storage servers, devices, etc.
Device controller service
It allows Etere modules to communicate with and control other devices, such as routers, cameras and graphic generators.
Disaster Recovery
Avoids interruptions in case of an automation crash, allowing stations to keep aligned a so called 'Disaster Recovery Automation' with the 'On-Air Automation', this by storing a copy of any published schedule that will be used by the 'Disaster Recovery Automation' when required.
Document Management
Often abbreviated as Do.Ma, it allows to digitalize and catalogue paper documents to store them in the SQL database, making them available to the entire system in a very simple and efficient way by anyone looking for them.
Camera Control
Etere Camera Control allows configuration and definition of PTZ cameras. It also integrates with other modules like Etere Nunzio Playout, allowing for example to control cameras while playing a rundown.
CensorMX Time Delay
Etere CensorMX Time Delay allow stations to perform a delayed transmission from the source and allows operations to continue and resume transmission automatically in given delay.
Router Control Panel
An utility that allow switching of router for better control.
ETX
The cost-efficient, tightly integrated and advanced video management solution, which can be configured as a Channel-in-a-box (CIB). It allows for both media ingest and media playout in a single workstation, as well as a digital playout engine built for wide and complex broadcasting.
ETX-G Graphic MAM
Etere ETX-G is a next generation commercial graphics management software with an integrated end-to-end process that combines approval, preview, invoicing, edit and play-out of commercial graphics.
ETX-M Converter Service
Etere ETX-M Converter service allows to receive and stream audio and video signals, converting them into various formats.
ETX-M Multiviewer
Etere ETX-M Multiviewer allows a combinations of hardware and software to monitor multiple video inputs. In the most recent versions, Etere Multiviewer 64-bit has been introduced, which has been re-designed to improve the user experience and re-developed with an updated architecture.
F90
Executes, either manually or automatically, both the export or import of data from or to the SQL database. F90 is meant for stations which need to automatically import data into Etere schedules for broadcast, export data to external systems for analysis, import/export assets from federated systems, etc.
HSM
Manage your tape libraries with an enterprise solution that permits stations to automatically archive media content and restore them (also automatically) when they are required for the on-air transmission. Etere HSM also allows to create custom backups of any sensible data of an Etere system.
Etere recently developed the service versions of HSM Headquarters, HSM Datapump and HSM Robotics.
Ingest
Improves the media capture process by offering a wide range of applications carefully developed to cover any particular requirement of the entire process such as manual, scheduled or automatic ingest, SDI copies, deletions via workflow, cart ingest, video tapes copies, video checking, etc.
Media Asset Management
Often abbreviated as MAM, it supports the media management of assets including major production tasks such as indexing and metadata insertion, media conforming, subtitles production as well as logistic operations such as resources and tapes management.
Media Manager Service
It is the Etere service which allows a complete management of video files (copy, move, transcoding, etc.), with all the advantages of a client-server architecture. This feature replaces the old Etere Data Mover (which is now discontinued) and it proved to be more reliable and faster.
Memory
Accomplishes with the legal recording needs of stations, allowing to store the audio/video copies of all broadcasted events while reducing expensive tape maintenance (i.e. tapes, decks, libraries etc).
MOS Gateway
Integrates Newsroom systems with Etere applications (i.e.: ingest, media asset management, browsing, automation, etc) using the industry standard MOS protocol, providing an integrated solution able to receive and transmit rundowns containing placeholders and Etere assets which can be previewed at any time.
Multichannel View Multidatabase
It allows to see the schedules of multiple stations in the form of timelines, and it is designed to display the different databases' information on an integrated interface.
Multichannel Editor
Allows stations with more than one channel to have a global view of all schedules, allowing the possibility in real time to make changes to the schedule, or in any case to see what is on air on all the channels at any given moment. It's a very easy to use software provided with self-explaining graphics.
Multichannel Ingest Client Server
Etere Multichannel Ingest allows multiple ingest operations to be performed simultaneously. It is split into services running in a dedicated server and user interface running in a client workstation to achieve ingest performance and operations stability.
NDI Monitor
A monitoring software developed by Etere to monitor audio and video for multiple NDI streams.
Nunzio
A solution for the management of the entire tapeless workflow of a newsroom environment, starting from the planning of news programs to the control of on-air playback. Nunzio makes all jobs within a newsroom easier, helping managers to control overall daily operations, guiding journalists to prepare their stories, and enabling editors to quickly deliver stories media.
In the most recent versions, NCS server is managed by a dedicated service, as well as the post to social media platforms.
Object Reel
Improves the search, selection and subsequent archive of either generic, commercial or clustered media, by implementing custom filters and independent modules for each type of object you intend to store on videotapes, allowing also automatic insertion of 'colour bars' and 'black screens' between videos.
Promo
Promo Manager provides a robust solution and integrated tool for managing the entire trailer activities, including campaigns, effectively. It monitors and places the right trailer across the broadcast schedules.
Query Manager
Allows managing customized queries, divided by subject. It allows to easily open, view, modify and launch either user-defined or system-default queries, thus permitting stations to execute fully customized operations on the main database.
Sarvaji
Acts as an interface between different applications (e.g.: automation and ingest) that needs to control the same device (e.g.: a centralized master control), it receives commands via UDP and transmits them to the devices through a serial connection.
Scheduling
Program your daily schedules using a complete suite of components for taking key tasks such as schedules management, import/export of playlists, last minute changes, reporting services, emergency broadcasting, series management, custom statistics, full personal data management and much more.
STMan
Provides broadcasters with a multi-layer and real-time management of secondary objects associated to scheduled events, these objects includes graphical elements (e.g.: logos, crawls, subtitles, channel branding, etc) and device commands (e.g.: script, hex pass-through, channel switch, etc).
All the STMan's features and plugins are now available in the service version.
Studio Player
Etere Studio Player is part of Etere MAM system, it enable users to prepare both Live and pre-recorded studio performance for broadcast in single system.
Tape Management
Etere Tape Management is a solution for allowing stations to carry out the management of tapes (i.e.: video tapes, data tapes, cartridges, discs) by providing a set of modules specifically designed to improve the most important tasks in management of tapes.
