Data Pump Configuration

70.2.5.2 Hardware Suggestion

To improve the speed and performance of the tape drives, we suggest using Raid 0 drive as Data Pump cache.

Raid (redundant array of independent disks) is a storage technology that combines multiple disk drives into a single logical disk unit.

Raid 0, also known as “Disk striping”, is a technique that spreads data across all the disk drives in a Raid array.  With Raid 0, data stored in multiple drives are accessed simultaneously and thus increase the I/O performance.

Important:  EACH Data Pump must have a reserved CACHE, this cache cannot be shared with other processes or other Data Pump.
