202.2.4.39 Rules

In the Rules section you are able to select which scheduling rules to follow based on the requirements of the client.  Once the rules are chosen, in the assignment of space (scheduling) they will be adhered to allowing for a controlled and user-defined automatic scheduling process.

Parameter - Scheduling Modes
Description: Select one among the following supported scheduling modes:

Priority - The event will be scheduled consistently in the same segment position, the space will be assigned based on the user-defined parameters

Rotation - The event will be scheduled across different segment positions in rotating basis,

Optimization - The event will be scheduled based on the 'emptiness' of the segment, thus optimizing the space utilization by filling those segments where it is most needed,

Fixed time - The event will be always scheduled at the same time, skipping all unavailable spaces (e.g. occupied by other events). The difference between this scheduling type and the Priority one is that it allows to specify the exact space whereas in Priority the space is assigned based on the user-defined parameters.

NB: Please note that the fixed-times are specified when using the assign spaces function (times used on the last scheduling operation are remembered).

Rotation Tables - The event will be scheduled based on pre-configured tables that identify specific times, blocks and days of the week when the commercial event should be scheduled. Rotation table are created under the Etere Configuration | Air Sales Parameters | Rotation Tables section.

Customized Rotation - The event will be scheduled using a customized pre-configured rotation table.

Parameter - Week Days
Description: For each rule or method of scheduling you can define which days of the week the rule considers.  In the scheduling phase this is then adhered to (unless you manually change it in the scheduling phase of assigning space).  For example if you set the 'Priority' rule with only Sunday activated, when it comes to assigning space, if you choose the 'Priority' method of assigning space, space will only considered on Sundays.
However, during the scheduling phase, you can also choose whether to apply the rules to only specific days of the week or to all of them.

Parameter - Check product code
Description: Enable this parameter to avoid scheduling order lines across those segments which already contains a commercial with the same product category.

NB: Please note that in case of scheduling commercials across split networks, the system will check for category conflicts between commercials scheduled in the main network and those to be scheduled in the split network.

Parameter - Top
Description: The event will be scheduled in the top segment of the block (if available), otherwise it will be scheduled in the closest one.

Parameter - Bottom
Description: The event will be scheduled in the bottom segment of the block (if available), otherwise it will be scheduled in the closest one.

Parameter - Middle
Description: If enabled, besides the top (first) and bottom (last) event, a third event will be also inserted between them (with a 501 priority).

NB: Please note that in case three different assets are assigned to the order line, they will be automatically used -during the scheduling- in the top, middle and bottom placements.

Parameter - Exclusive Top/Bottom
Description: If this option (which is valid for the top and the bottom scheduling types) is enabled, events scheduled as the first (top) or last (bottom) event of the segment, will be protected from subsequent scheduling operations, that is, they will always remain as either, the first or the last event of the segment.

NB: If  two different assets are assigned, they will be used as top and bottom.

Parameter - Ignore insertion rules but log the event
Description: If activated, the scheduling process will ignore rules but will log them into the scheduling report.

Parameter - Ignore insertion
Description: Use this parameter ONLY in case it is intended to completely ignore rules.
