Action Description
The "retrieve from device" action allows adding to an asset's media list a metafile (e.g. pulled from a remote site) stored in a given device with a given codec, allowing to specify the filename and the extension with which it will be added.
This action can be used to, for example:
Associate to a local asset a file put on a certain device from a remote site (e.g. linked server).
Associate to an asset a file stored within a MassTech system (see chapter Metafiles on MassTech systems).
NB: A metafile is a database reference of a video file stored on a device and related to a particular asset.
