66.4.13 Date and Time Formatting

You can specify the format for text items that indicates time (Timer or Stopwatch) or Date (DateTime).

  • Time Formatting
    The time format is set as "hh:mm: ss". Here is a list of all possible settings:
    Picture - h
    This means hours with no leading zero for single-digit hours, a 12-hour clock.
    Picture - hh
    This means hours with a leading zero for single-digit hours and a 12-hour clock.
    Picture - H
    This means hours with no leading zero for single-digit hours, 24-hour clock.
    Picture - HH
    This means hours with leading zero for single-digit hours and 24-hour clocks.
    Picture - m
    This means minutes with no leading zero for single-digit minutes.
    Picture - mm
    This means minutes with leading zero for single-digit minutes.
    Picture - s
    This means seconds with no leading zero for single-digit seconds.
    Picture - ss
    This means seconds with leading zero for single-digit seconds.
    Picture - t
    Meaning: One character time marker string, such as A or P.
    Picture - tt
    Meaning: Multi-character time marker string, such as AM or PM.

  • Date Formatting
    The date format is set as "yyyy/MM/dd". Here are the tables with possible settings:

    Format Type - d
    Meaning: Day of the month as digits without leading zeros for single-digit days.
    Format Type - dd
    This means that the day of the month is a digit with leading zeros for single-digit days.
    Format Type - and
    This means an abbreviated day of the week, for example, "Mon" in English (United States).
    Format Type - dddd
    Meaning: Day of the week.

  • Month Formatting
    The following table defines the format types used to represent months.
    Format Type - M
    Meaning: Month as digits without leading zeros for single-digit months.
    Format Type - MM
    The month is represented as digits with leading zeros for single-digit months.
    Format Type - MMM
    This means an abbreviated month, for example, "Nov" in English (United States).
    Format Type - MMMM
    For example, the month is "November" for English (United States) and "Noviembre" for Spanish (Spain).

  • Year Formatting
    The following table defines the format types used to represent years.
    Format Type - y
    Meaning: Year represented only by the last digit.
    Format Type - yy
    Meaning: Year represented only by the last two digits. A leading zero is added for single-digit years.
    Format Type - yyyy
    Meaning: Year represented by a full four or five digits, depending on the calendar used. Thai Buddhist and Korean calendars are five-digit years long. The "yyyy" pattern shows five digits for these two calendars and four digits for all other supported calendars. Calendars that have single-digit or two-digit years, such as for the Japanese Emperor era, are represented differently. For example, a single-digit year is represented with a leading zero, "03". A two-digit year is represented with two digits, for example, "13". No additional leading zeros are displayed.
    Format Type - yyyyy
    Meaning: Similar to "yyyy"

  • Era Formatting
    The following table defines the format types representing a period or era.
    Format Type - g, gg
    Meaning: Period/era string. The "g" and "gg" format pictures in a date string are ignored if there is no associated era or period string.
